HT: Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
Slight concern for Egypt as the whistle went there, with midfielder Tarek Hamed down injured and receiving treatment. Hector Cuper's medical team have 15 minutes or so to get him patched up.

Uruguay are struggling for width. Whether it is Bentancur or Godin running through the middle, everything is focused to where Egypt are strong. I can see a few harsh words being said in the dressing room.
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
Diego Godin on the attack again as the whistle goes... Luis Suarez has had a tough first half there, as have Uruguay.
One minute to add.
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
Egypt threatening towards the end of the half. Ahmed Fathy, on the run from right back, swings over a couple of crosses from the right, but Godin and Co deal with them. Oscar Tabarez, on the Uruguay bench, has a facial expression that could freeze fire.

Kyle: Awful miss from Suarez but at least he keeps going getting into the right positions. He won't go hiding. Fantastic player and a great partnership he has with Cavani.
Stevie B: Uruguay seem to be having their 'England in a big tournament moment'. They seem very lacklustre and devoid of ideas.
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
A painful moment for Amr Warda, who attempts an overhead kick in midfield and ends up flat on his back as if you or I had tried it. (Well, you might be good at football. I'm certainly not.) Anyway, a bit of treatment, and he's back on his feet with nothing worse than wounded pride.
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay

Egypt are first to every ball, every battle. Only Godin looks like he up for this.
Uruguay are lacking a rhythm and a pattern of play. Their best bet is to get it out wide and look for the strikers from crosses. Their midfield players are not progressive enough.
Hard to argue with either Godin or Mike at the moment: Uruguay are not doing anything near enough with the ball in the final third of the pitch. A patient spell of build-up ends with a tame cross straight into the arms of goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy.

Kevin: Uruguay look seriously poor here considering a lot of people have tipped them for winner
Mike: Godin is not happy with the number of times his midfielders are giving the ball away cheaply.
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay

Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
The stadium's big screen focuses on Mohamed Salah. A huge roar goes up. All he's doing is fiddling with some kind of protective equipment. How loud will the cheers be if he comes on?
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
Martin Keown
Former England defender in Russia
Suarez looks like he's towing a caravan. He's actually having a word with himself now.
There has to be a GIF in this.

PJ: How did Suarez miss that open chance at the far post?? Glorious opportunity gone begging that one!
Jay: That was very unlike Suarez
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
Diego Godin, looking very grumpy, urges his Uruguay team-mates to show a bit more oomph. And Godin is not a man you want to take issue with. Matias Vecino kicks himself into gear and bounces a range-finder wide from 25 yards.
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay
Jonathan Pearce thought Luis Suarez had scored there initially - as did I. As did large chunks of the stadium. As did Russian television's commentator, it would seem.

Johnny: The longer this game remains 0-0, the more it’ll suit Egypt. Having Salah on the bench could prove crucial - he can change the entire complexity of the game. Uruguay will struggle to cope with his movement - they look almost static at times. Egypt holding their own.
Egypt 0-0 Uruguay

It is a poor miss from there. It looked like it was in from here.
Suarez hasn't looked right from the start of the game, he hasn't pressed the buttons. Can't see him missing another one like that.
