Roman Zobnin makes a good run forward, he has a chance to shoot or cross and then produces a hybrid that's neither. Goal-kick.

  2. 'Russia growing in belief'published at 19:34 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Russia will be absolutely delighted with how the game is going. They have had most of the possession, been in the best positions, though no clear-cut chances.

Egypt haven't laid a glove on them, you can see the growth and belief for Russia. Their only disappointment is that they haven't scored.

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

The ball almost breaks for Mohamed Salah in the box from Mohamed Shafy's outside-of-boot cross but Yuri Zhirkov just hoofs the ball out for a corner before the Egypt forward can control or shoot.

  4. 'Pressure building'published at 19:32 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

The pressure from Russia is building.

Aleksandr Golovin is finding space really well, he's confident in possession. Artem Dzuba has also done well so far, whenever the ball goes up to him it sticks to him.

They've been the better team, they look well balanced.

The game has just started to calm down a bit - it was a rapid start by Russia.

Mohamed Salah is definitely growing into this game now - he shows good pace to nearly get onto a bad pass but Yuri Zhirkov slides it away from him.

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

Russia do keep trying to cross into Artem Dzyuba and this time Egypt keeper Mohamed El-Shenawy punches clear.

He's been preferred to 45-year-old Essam El Hadary in the two games so far. If El Hadary comes on, he's the oldest World Cup player ever.

  11. Get it wide lads...published at 19:25 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

As a dangerous cross comes in from the Russia left, we can see how the hosts like to play with width. Only 15% of their play has been up the middle of the Egypt half.

If you're a full-back, this lot look keen on keeping you busy.

Jack Richardson: The thing I love about Salah is his head never drops. If a move doesn't work, he keeps on working to get it back, no time for fretting about what's done.

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

Mohamed Salah now does well to hold the ball up and battle off a defender before squaring to Trezeguet, whose shot is blocked.

That will have encouraged the Liverpool forward.

  14. 'Russia confident'published at 19:23 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Russia don't look like a team that struggled so much pre-World Cup.

That win in the opening game has given them so much confidence.

  15. 'Salah a shadow of himself'published at 19:23 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

I'm not sure it's a good idea to have Mo Salah on the pitch.

He looks an utter shadow of the player we know. He looks tentative, worried and concerned when the ball comes to him.

  16. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

Yuri Zhirkov crosses from the left but target man Artem Dzyuba is inches away from getting a head on it.

Dzyuba came on in the opener shortly before powering home a header.

Now Yuri Gazinskiy, who scored the opening goal of this World Cup, blazes over from range.

  17. Where's Mo?published at 19:22 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

Mohamed Salah has touched the ball five times, that's the lowest figure of any outfield player on the pitch.

Russia are clearly paying him close attention.

  18. 'Egypt fouling too much'published at 19:21 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

The best effort of the game for Russia from Cheryshev there.

The problem for Egypt is that they are giving away far too many free-kicks in a dangerous position, and there is only so many times they can do that before they are punished.

  19. Postpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

I think this group needs an Egypt win, or at least a draw, to keep it interesting. I can't see Uruguay losing to Saudi Arabia tomorrow - the Asian side were dreadful in the opener.

  20. Postpublished at 19:19 British Summer Time 19 June 2018

    Russia 0-0 Egypt

After 18 minutes, Mohamed Salah has had fewer touches than any outfield player (five).
