Egypt's Mohamed El-Shenawy catches a cross and then launches a 90-yard kick towards Mohamed Salah but it runs all the way through to other keeper Igor Akinfeev.

The wonderfully named Trezeguet curls one wide for Egypt from the edge of the box.

The Kasimpasa forward's real name is Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan but his nickname comes from former France striker David Trezeguet, who he apparently looks slightly alike.

Ted: Every time Salah goes near the ball, two nations rise as one and start worrying for different reasons.

Paul: One man doesn't make a team. As good as Salah is, Russia will win this.

This corner is played short, there's a bit of pinball in the box and it's out for an Egypt throw-in. Russia eventually clear their lines.

Egypt have their first corner, Abdallah El Said takes and Marwan Mohsen heads wide - via a deflection off a defender.

Russia are doing everything they possibly can they well get the ball wide, whether it is left or right, so Dzyuba can attack every cross.

Denis Cheryshev - who scored twice in the opener - has a shot blocked from 20 yards out. Egypt are hanging in there. Luckily their two West Brom defenders should be used to being busy.

Such noise in the St Petersburg Stadium. Three shots for Russia already, none for Egypt.

Aleksandr Golovin is the one playing in the number 10 role for Russia, he looks like he's going to have a free role to cause damage and to use his skill.

He wants the ball all the time, he's creative and he's a young player playing with freedom.

Mohamed Salah tries to take the ball past a Russian on the halfway line but loses the ball.

Now Artem Dzyuba attempts to control a cross but it runs away from him.

A good physical battle between Artem Dzyuba and Ahmed Hegazi down near the corner flag. Dzyuba wants a corner but the referee rules in favour of the West Brom defender and gives a goal-kick.

Another corner from Russia but it goes all the way across the box. This is a really bright start from the hosts. Their fans can probably hardly believe their performance in the first 100 minutes of this tournament.

Free-kick for Russia, Aleksandr Samedov takes but it's headed away by Egypt striker Marwan Mohsen.

Helles: The opening games are over and you can already feel the difference in this second game for both teams. The urgency of Egypt and the self confidence of Russia after their win.

First corner is to Russia and it's followed by the first shot. Aleksandr Samedov plays a one-two from the corner and his cross finds the head of veteran Sergei Ignashevich - but Mohamed El-Shenawy saves.

And a second shot as Aleksandr Golovin takes the ball off an Egypt defender but drags his 20-yard shot wide.

A couple of early sloppy passes from Egypt. Mohamed Salah is yet to really get involved. It's a must-not-lose for them.

If you're an opposition defender, you are going to hit Salah, give him a crunching tackle. There will be players taking turns on him to see if he's fit. It can be a great test for you as a footballer if you are fit, because Salah himself might not know until he takes that first hit.
