I'm not surprised Uruguay have made a change - they've been flat all game - very similar to how they were against Egypt in their opening game.

Apparently, Lucas Torreira's dad is in the Rostov stadium working for Uruguayan radio.
Brilliant.

A couple of Uruguay changes.
Cristian Rodriguez comes off for Diego Laxalt, while Mathias Vecino makes way for Arsenal-linked Lucas Torreira.
Let's see how the future Gooner gets one.

Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia
Mohammed Al Owais and Mohammed Al-Burayk try exchanging passes at the back, but the Saudi Arabia goalkeeper knocks the ball straight out of play deep in his own half.
Awful.
Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia like the long sweeping cross-field ball.
This one is played to Mohammed Al-Burayk in the area, who heads an effort at goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

It came off the defenders elbow, but the arm was by his side and he didn't try and stop the ball. Luis Suarez is just trying his luck.

It wasn't a convincing save by Mohammed Al Owais from Luis Suarez's free-kick. It took a big deflection, which took a lot of pace off the ball, so he should have been looking to catch it.
Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia
Luis Suarez is sniffing another goal.
The Barcelona forward curls the free-kick, which takes a deflection off the wall, and Saudi Arabia goalkeeper Moahmmed Alowais dives full stretch to his left to push the ball to safety.

Right, Salman Al Faraj makes a scruffy challenge on Carlos Sanchez, who goes down.

Saudi Arabia has flashes of decent play in that first half and find themselves in a decent position in the final third again.
They work a short corner into the box, which is hacked clear by a Uruguayan defender.

Saudi Arabia need to get some shots on goal. They have not really hurt the Uruguay defenders.

Kyle: Typical Uruguay. They remind me of Atletico Madrid two world-class centre-halves and two great strikers. Grinding out 1-0 wins and they very rarely give away goals. Dull game to watch so far though.
Paul: Uruguay don't score or even threaten to score enough to be a threat to winning the World Cup. Shocking to say given who their two forwards are. If you score against them first and they finally have open up then you will beat them.

Uruguay were my tip for the tournament to surprise a few people - I thought they'd play with a bit of style with they players they've got. But they are very much a Diego Simeone style side, a rigid 4-4-2, who try to get a goal and defend it.
Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia
The Uruguay shape looks bang on when we look at the average positions they have taken up in that first half. In truth, they've offered very little and seem keen to preserve themselves in many ways.
Here you can see Luis Suarez as the furthest man forward. He's seen the least amount of ball for his side with just 15 touches.
Matias Vecino has seen the most with 56. The number 15 is keeping his side moving in the heart of things.

Luis Suarez is very difficult to play against. If you go to attack him, he'll react and that's what he wants. You're better waiting for him to make the decisions and take the game to you. But saying that, you always have a tough game against him.
Saudi Arabia aren't committing too many players forward, but when they do they look dangerous. We might see them go for it a bit more in the second half because they've got nothing to lose.
He would have scored much more spectacular goals in his 100 appearances but they all count.
