    Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia really are hacking in to Uruguay at the moment.

This time Salem Aldawsari chops down Matias Vecino, but the referee does not feel it warrants a yellow.

    10 minutes to the interval.

    Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia

The Saudi players are getting stuck in.

Edinson Cavani is dawdling on the ball and in comes Abdullah Otayf with an uncompromising challenge from in behind, taking man and ball.

I've got a mate called Abdullah, a similar no-nonsense character.

Martin Caceres just switched off at the far post there and Hatan Bahbri did really well to get there - but he's got to keep it down. He's got to get his head over the ball and get it on target.

  8. CLOSE!published at 29 mins

    Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia

    Saudi Arabia should be level.

Hatan Bahbri meets a cross - unmarked - at the back post, but can only find the stands with his first-time strike.

Just could not keep it down.

David Pickup: That was dreadful goalkeeping. And he's been brought into the team in response to the last match?

Tom: Another set-piece goal!! And still no sign of a 0-0!

  11. 'Suarez wanted it more'published at 16:27 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Luis Suarez keeps everyone quiet. He just threw Taisir Al Jassam out of the way in the box. He wanted it more. He missed a few the other day, but he wasn't missing that one. They were both holding each other, but he just wanted it more.

    Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia

If Saudi Arabia could buck up their ideas at the back they would be a good side.

Striker Hatan Bahbri picks the ball up 25 yards out and unleashes a fierce effort towards goal which Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera has to tip over the crossbar.

Saudi Arabia were absolutely all over the place just before the corner. But the keeper comes out - flapping - completely misses it, and it's a simple tap-in for Luis Suarez.

GOAL - Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabiapublished at 22 mins

    Luis Suarez

    Goalkeeping howler!

A corner is swung in, Saudi Arabia goalkeeper Mohammed Alowais comes off his line to try and claim it but gets nowhere near the ball.

It sails over his head and drops onto the foot of Luis Suarez, who strokes home from six yards into an open net.

A goal on his 100th cap and Suarez celebrates by rubbing his belly. I'm assuming some pundits called him tubby before the match.

Terrible organisation from Saudi Arabia there - but they just didn't see Carlos Sanchez go out for that short corner.

    Uruguay 0-0 Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia are disorganised at the back, but are posing a few threats at the other end of the pitch.

Fahad Almuwallad finds space on the angle of the area, but his shot caused Fernando Muslera no problems.

    Uruguay 0-0 Saudi Arabia

Uruguay work some good play for the first time, Cristian Rodriguez, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani all involved, but the PSG forward's cross into the box is poor and cut out by the first man.
