  3. Fact attackpublished at 77 mins

    Croatia 2-0 Nigeria

The penalty scored by Luka Modric was the first shot on target by Croatia and the 10th shot in total in the game v Nigeria.

That really isn't going to keep them coming back for more.

    Croatia 2-0 Nigeria

Croatia haven't been great, but Nigeria have been abysmal.

I had high-ish hopes for them. But my hopes are as high as ground floor, at best.

Great refereeing. I'm glad he has taken the decision to award a penalty. Awful defending by Nigeria, and if Lionel Messi is watching the game, that is how to take a penalty.

  10. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Croatia 1-0 Nigeria

Nigeria just don't seem to have any intensity whatsoever - all very strange.

Their best outlet is on the right with Victor Moses, who on this occasion goes down under the challenge of Ivan Strinic in the area.

Ref Sandro Ricci is as interested as a bear in hibernation.

    Croatia 1-0 Nigeria

Nigeria are playing some useless balls up to Odion Ighalo, who is finding it diffiuclt to bring others into play.

Seconds after typing that last sentence Ighalo flicks a header towards goal that keeper Danijel Subasic is forced to collect.

And that all means... we've had an effort on target in the match.

    *Cue confetti*

Paul: I've seen more diving in this game from Victor Moses than Tom Daley does in an Olympic diving event. Stay on your feet

Anon: Nigeria are awful. They should bring Iheanacho on, the guy has goals in him.

  15. 'Toothless Nigerian attack'published at 21:16 British Summer Time 16 June 2018

    Croatia 1-0 Nigeria

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain on BBC Radio 5 live

Nigeria are willing and trying and they are dominating possession in the second half but their attack is a bit toothless in the final third. There isn't much action happening in Croatia's box.

I'm not saying the craze for beakers as match souvenirs is getting out of hand, but this Mexico fan outside the Spartak Stadium after the Argentina-Iceland game is going to need a new suitcase to get this haul home.

I asked him what he was going to do with them all and he said "put them in my garage".

It would be the same with me - I'd never get them past my wife. They are quite nice, though, with little flags for each fixture and a big World Cup trophy too.

Croatia are holding a good line at the back, but there seems to be just that little bit more space opening up in midfield for Nigeria.

The men in green have a corner.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa warming up for Nigeria. Wouldn’t be surprised to see one or both on the pitch soon.
