Croatia’s fans have been partying all day in Kaliningrad and that goal has stepped things up even further. They were getting frustrated by their team’s lack of ideas. Different story as we head to half-time.

The hardcore are behind Croatia’s goal. Nigeria can’t afford to give them more to cheer about.

The last two goals Nigeria have conceded in the World Cup have been own goals.

    Remember Joseph Yobo's v France in 2014?

    That wasn't coming.

Moments after Ante Rebic's deflected strike goes out for a corner, Croatia grab the opener courtesy of the unfortunate Oghenekaro Etebo, who has joined Stoke City - you can fill in the blanks.

A corner from the right is swung in. It's nodded on towards Mario Mandzukic, whose header, which appeared to be going wide, came off some part of Etebo's body.

    Unfortunate. Not for Croatia though.

There hasn't been much quality in this game so far, but you can see there is a storm coming. When I say storm, I mean chances and goals.

    Croatia 0-0 Nigeria

Nigeria - in Perrier-bottle green - have yet to test Croatia keeper Danijel Subasic.

Odion Ighalo, who now plays for Chinese club Changchun Yatai, looks potent when he gets the ball but lacks a final punch. Or a jab.

Croatia's biggest threat is Ante Rebic on the left wing - neither Luka Modric nor Ivan Rakitic have been an influence so far.

The volume from the Nigeria's fans inside the Kaliningrad Stadium rises a little as striker Odion Ighalo looks to produce some magic inside the area with a mini-weaving run.

    Nothing comes of it though.

This match hasn't quite taken off - early days, of course.

If I was Croatia, I would take Luka Modric off the set-pieces because he has produced three rubbish deliveries.

    Croatia 0-0 Nigeria

    John Bennett

Nigeria are looking so much more composed than their rabbit in the headlights first half performance against England at Wembley.

The game is reminding me a bit of their friendly against Poland in March. Nigeria frustrated the Poles, looking really solid and decent in possession. They won one-nil. It will take something special to recreate that against Croatia. But so far so good for Gernot Rohr’s team.

This time Hoffenheim's Andrej Kramaric decides to have a pop from distance - but his strike drifts past the right-hand upright of Deportivo's Francis Uzoho.

Croatia maintain the pressure - they now have a corner.

    The first sighter.

Ante Rebic, with more good work on the left, lays the ball to Juve's Mario Mandzukic on the edge of the area.

He, in turn, sets up Ivan Perisic, whose rocket from 20 yards creeps over the bar.

That had some meat on it.

Not a lot of quality yet. It hasn't settled down yet and it is frantic stuff. Someone needs to get their foot on the ball and slow it down, which should add some quality.

    Rubbish.

Croatia try a short-corner routine but it fails like a collapsed souffle in the first week of Bake Off.
