Nigeria have started well in the second half and Croatia haven't got going at all. It's been very sloppy by the Croatians so far and it's a good sign for Nigeria and their fans.

    Croatia 1-0 Nigeria

Chelsea's Victor Moses comes in from the right - jinks one way then the other but drills a low shot wide of the near post.

He tries to claim a corner, but it was just a poor strike.

We've still not had an effort on target.

At the other end, Ivan Rakitic launches one from 20 yards but it lands in the Pregolya.

    Yikes! Nigeria go quite close.

Had Mario Mandzukic not been inches away from Leon Balogun then the Nigeria defender would have surely headed in the equaliser.

The Juve striker then clears the second corner too.

    The corner comes to zilch.

We are seconds away from the restart. Nigeria have another 'team meeting', this time in the tunnel.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr takes another swig from his water bottle, Nigeria have another huddle and Croatia's players... stand around.

Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic have been key to Croatia's creative threat so far - but how did they compare in that first half?

    BTW.

After ref Sandro Ricci of Brazil blew the whistle for half-time, the Nigeria players got in a huddle - I'm guessing to have a debrief.

Will somebody have to produce a Power Point presentation in the dressing room?

    Croatia 1-0 Nigeria

Croatia's lead is well deserved. Nigeria have just had their best spell of the match after conceding but I'm sure they will get a rollicking at half time. Croatia have been dominant and shown some lovely movement.

    Croatia 1-0 Nigeria

    That is that.

Quite a tepid tone of a half that was punctured by the own goal scored by Oghenekaro Etebo.

Croatia look more likely to get a second than Nigeria are to get an equaliser.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will have to give one heck of an HT talk.

The free-kick is cleared by Croatia but only to Arsenal's Alex Iwobi whose seemingly goalbound drive is blocked.

    Croatia 1-0 Nigeria

Modric, who I thought should have been taken off set-pieces, produces a beauty from the corner and it ends up in the net after a couple of touches. It's what the game needed because Nigeria have got to come out now, but Croatia won't want to rest on their laurels either and they will want another goal.

Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic whips a ball on to the head of Andrej Kramaric on the edge of the area - his first-time flick towards goal almost catches out Francis Uzoho, but it doesn't as the ball lands on the top netting.

    Croatia confident.
