Wahbi Khazri starts up front for Tunisia, you may recall him from two-and-a-half seasons at Sunderland which were largely underwhelming. After joining in January 2016, he made 13 Premier League starts, scoring in home wins over Chelsea and Manchester United as the Black Cats avoided relegation by two points.

However, in the following two campaigns he made just a further seven starts in the Premier League due to a catalogue of injuries and loss of form before joining Rennes on a season-long loan last summer. His performances converted them from mid-table into a top-five finish. The French side are believed to be intending to make the deal permanent this summer.

I think Tunisia will play deep so it's going to be hard to get in behind tonight. I just wonder who is going to deliver the balls into Sterling and Kane for their movement ahead.

There are two doubts in the team selection for me. Ashley Young is in the team but I think Danny Rose should start because he has more pace and he can get back and defend a lot quicker than Ashley Young. And Jordan Henderson starts instead of Eric Dier, but that's a matter of opinion.

England flags out in force as usual but they are going to face some stiff competition from a noisy Tunisia contingent inside the Volgograd Arena and who were also making themselves heard around the city today.

England's tight knit goalkeeping unit - "the union" as first choice Jordan Pickford calls it - are out warming up after waiting a moment to dodge the sprinklers.

    Tunisia v England (19:00 BST)

    England

England manager Gareth Southgate has not sprung any surprises with his line-up for their first game at this year's World Cup.

Everton's Jordan Pickford gets the nod in goal, with Kyle Walker, John Stones and Harry Maguire the three centre-back. Kieran Tripper and Ashley Young play at full-back.

Jordan Henderson is picked ahead of Eric Dier in the 'pivot' role in front of the defence, while Jesse Lingard, Dele Alli and Raheem Sterling are the runners from midfield.

Skipper Harry Kane of Tottenham leads the line.

England XI: Pickford, Trippier, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Young, Henderson, Lingard, Alli, Sterling, Kane.

    Tunisia

For Tunisia, Sunderland midfielder Whabi Khazi, who spent last season on-loan at Rennes, captains the side and is in behind striker Lille striker Naim Sliti.

Leicester's Yohan Benalouane is on the bench.

Tunisia XI: Hassen, Bronn, Syam Ben Youssef, Meriah, Maaloul, Fakhreddine Ben Youssef, Skhiri, Sassi, Badri, Khazri, Sliti.

England should be wary of complacency against Tunisia, the African side's former captain has warned.

Radhi Jaidi said the Three Lions' Group G opponents are in "high spirits".

The ex-Premier League defender believes England's "new mentality" makes them dangerous opponents.

But he said: "Probably all that can go against the younger boys is an excess of confidence because they're playing against Tunisia."

A few changes to the team Frank went for...

England must find a way through Tunisia's defensive block to start their World Cup with a win, and Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard will have a key role in making that happen.

I am expecting Tunisia's tactics to be the same as in their friendly against Spain last week, when they only lost 1-0 to a late goal.

They will have 10 men behind the ball, in a 4-5-1 shape, and England's task is to find an attacking formation that can break them down.

I think Gareth Southgate will go with the same approach he did against Nigeria at the start of June, when he used Alli and Lingard as attacking midfield players, as opposed to second strikers.

They will both be further forward than Jordan Henderson - who I think will get the nod in the role that Gareth calls the single pivot, or deeper midfielder - and they will be slightly behind Raheem Sterling.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Volgograd Arena

Plenty of interest in the Volgograd Media Centre when Belgium and Panama got to half-time goalless but it's all ended as everyone expected.

England's line-up contains no real surprises. Jordan Pickford nailed down the keeper's position in March and the big decision would have been between Jordan Henderson and Eric Dier as the midfield pivot.

Liverpool's captain gets the nod tonight but it would hardly be a shock to see both face the more obvious threat of Belgium.
