    Tunisia 1-2 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

They have all done a job tonight. They would have got hammered if it stayed 1-1 and they didn't deserve that. They deserved to beat them by more and Tunisia were terrible. England dominated that game tonight and they were rewarded right at the end. The desire and tempo they played with throughout he game was excellent.

I know to all intents and purposes that was a tap-in for the winner but that's some header from Harry Kane. He got a lot of power into it.

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC One

That's why Southgate named Kane captain. He might not shout or clench his first. When the manager wants somebody to give him hope and belief then Kane has done that.

  7. 'Harry Kane saves the day'published at 20:57 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    Tunisia 1-2 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

England were brilliant in the first half but they didn't take their chances. Second half, Tunisia changed their system and England found it difficult as Lingard and Sterling came off the pace. But Harry Kane saves the day and they deserved it.

Nico: Well, it certainly wasn't pretty in the 2nd half but we got the job done. Big win. Lots to learn from tonight but reason to be positive. Saved by Kane's brace

James: Harry Kane taking all of ONE world cup game to beat Rooneys record. Kane will be England's top scorer of all time soon, for sure

Craig: Tottenham 2 - 1 Tunisia, had a bit of football and some wrestling tonight.

We kept saying 'will England get another chance', and they have. Harry Kane has lost his marker and headed it straight into the roof of the net. England have fully deserved to win this game. It should have been six never mind two.

Quality on the pass in again, England have always won the first ball.

The predator Kane once, more great header swivels, finds the back of the next, wonderful from an England point of view.

Up, down, and up again! It's not boring watching England.

Well, it usually is actually. But you know what I mean. Eric Dier is on for Jesse LIngard.

  20. goal

GOAL - Tunisia 1-2 Englandpublished at 90 mins

    Harry Kane

He's hardly touched the ball apart from scoring twice but Harry Kane will take that!

He takes his second goal of the night - both from corners - really well. Harry Magurie nods the ball on, Kane has lost his marker with some smart movement and then with some awesome neck muscles flicks the ball in with a powerful header.
