Japan 1-1 Senegal
Japan's first shot on target apart from their goal. Genki Haraguchi flicks the ball onto Yuya Osako - who scored a header against Colombia - but his header is straight at the keeper.
About 45 seconds later, M'Baye Niang is shooting over at the other end.
Japan 1-1 Senegal
Japan clear the ball from the corner but there is no blue shirt within about 50 yards of where the ball ends up.

Senegal start the second half like they started the first, on the attack and they win a corner from Maya Yoshida.

I think a draw could be a decent point as it puts pressure on Colombia and Poland later on in Kazan, but they know a win puts them through.

I saw two teams that look scared of losing in the first half. I would actually like to see Senegal and Japan play with more freedom.
Name me one nice touch Lionel Messi did years ago that people still talk about...

David Barron: Decent game between Japan & Senegal and evenly matched at the moment. Wait and see what happens in the second half.
Billy Stephens: Yuto Nagamoto isn't getting enough credit for his touch for Japan's goal. If Lionel Messi made that touch/assist, it would have been everyone's favourite thing for nine years.

More of the same please.

Paul: If this is a draw and Colombia and Poland draw, then all Colombia and Poland would have to do is win their last game and overturn the goal difference of these two. In doing so, these two would still go out.
Japan scored with their only shot on target.
Despite almost 61% possession, they had just three shots to Senegal's seven.
That's Takashi Inui's first competitive goal for Japan - his fifth overall.
He has scored three goals in his last three caps, after scoring just two in his previous 26.
Only substitute today, Keisuke Honda, (3) has more World Cup assists for Japan than Yuto Nagatomo (2)

As a full-back you have to open up your body and see the run by Nagatomo for the Japanese equaliser. But Inui produces a brilliant finish.
Have a look at this equaliser...

For the Senegal goal, Sadio Mane does what he has been doing all season by making himself a nuisance, but it's poor goalkeeping by Eiji Kawashima. He goes to punch it instead of catching and it's a poor decision.

Japan 1-1 Senegal
Would a draw be a good result? We might know more after Poland v Colombia later.
Of course there are still 45 minutes for either side to win this.

Sadio Mane whips a free-kick in which SIX Senegal players are offside from.
The linesman and referee take ages to do anything about it, by which stage M'Baye Niang has already lost the ball.
