    Sweden 0-0 Switzerland

Switzerland full-back Ricardo Rodriguez, who has a vicious set-piece in his armoury, tries catching out Robin Olsen at the front post, but the shot is straight into the hands of the Sweden goalkeeper.

It threatened to be a firework, but fizzled away into one of them lame sparklers.

It is soft, but it is probably a yellow. He has his arms around him. It seems harsh for a player to miss the next match because of it.

Sweden have had the better chances and as you can see from the touchmaps below (Sweden - left, Switzerland - right), they have had far more touches in the opposition area.

Switzerland have only touched it three times in Sweden's box.

Sweden defender Mikael Lustig into the book for a tug on Josip Drmic.

A very poor yellow card to get and he will miss the quarter-final against Colombia or England, should they get there.

That is a top class save by Yann Sommer, who has had nothing to do. It wasn't the greatest strike but sometimes they are the ones you score from.

Best chance of the game falls to Sweden.

Striker Marcus Berg spins in the box a strikes a bobbly left-footed effort towards the far post, but Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer springs full-stretch to his right to tip the ball away.

A brilliant save, especially considering he has had nothing to do all game.

I would suggest that is the best play we have had. Great delivery into the box by Xherdan Shaqiri and a deep run into the box from Steven Zuber. That's more like it.

The last three or four minutes has been better for Switzerland. It is like the bench has told the full-backs to get forward. I was unimpressed with the Swiss for the first 15 minutes but they are just starting now.

  11. CLOSE!published at 24 mins

    Sweden 0-0 Switzerland

Everything is coming through Xherdan Shaqiri for Switzerland.

The Stoke man plays another lovely delivery into the box for the incoming Steven Zuber, who nods over from 10 yards out.

More of that would be nice.

All the danger for Switzerland is coming from Xherdan Shaqiri, specifically his left foot.

Sweden without playing very well are by far the better side by a distance at the moment.

14 years after making his Arsenal debut, defender Johan Djourou is still playing football at the highest level.

The 31-year-old was a figure of ridicule in England and is now plying his trade at Turkish club Antalyaspor.

Has not had much work to do so far.

Xherdan Shaqiri is the difference between the two teams and he can't half whip a ball into the box. At times the game is frenetic, but when Shaqiri gets the ball, everything seems to stop and it looks like he has time to do what he wants.
