100% a penalty. Down the middle, nice and cool.

  2. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Colombia 0-1 England

James Rodriguez responded by slumping forwards in his seat, like Kevin Keegan at Anfield.

    Collymore closing innnnn!!!!!

  3. 'No control'published at 20:19 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

The referee is not strong enough and he has no control over the game.

  4. goal

GOAL - Colombia 0-1 Englandpublished at 57 mins

    Harry Kane (Pen)

Captain Harry Kane stays as calm as you like! Such a long wait to take that penalty and he clips the spot-kick right down the middle.

Six World Cup goals. As many as Gary Lineker scored in Mexico in 1986.

  5. 'Wheelbarrow race'published at 20:18 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain on BBC Radio 5 live

Sanchez has picked Kane up at the back post and was having a wheelbarrow race with the England striker before dumping him on the floor. One or two of the Colombian players look like they are roughing up the penalty spot with their boots.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

Jordan Henderson has now been booked. He gave 10% of a headbutt.

    STILL we wait.

  7. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

This is a very, very long wait for Harry Kane.

  8. 'Stupid decision'published at 20:17 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Danny Murphy
    Former England midfielder

It's not difficult, but it's been coming. I don't like to use the word stupid, but in this tournament we are seeing stupid decisions from players.

  9. Postpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

STILL the referee is surrounded by a phalanx of Colombians. Not sure what they can be arguing about really...

  10. PENALTY ENGLANDpublished at 54 mins

    Colombia 0-0 England

You can't say you weren't warned! Harry Kane is wrestled down by Carlos Sanchez, about an inch from the referee's face!

Sanchez is booked. Kane has the chance for goal number six...

  11. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Colombia 0-0 England

That's a wonderful delivery in by Ashley Young and Harry Maguire is close to heading in until Davinson Sanchez nuts it clear! Great defending.

More pushing in the area of course as we get set for the corner.

  12. 'England falling into the trap'published at 20:13 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

England are falling into Colombia's trap. They have got to move the ball quicker and show more options because Colombia are quite happy at the moment.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 51 mins

    Colombia 0-0 England

England need to change something. It's down to walking pace football, all in the England defence. No danger whatsoever in either penalty area.

Free-kick for England though as Harry Kane is barged by Santiago Arias, who is booked.

Dave: Good job we are not playing Japan. They would have run England off their feet.

Al Mamun: Zidane got a straight red when there was no VAR. Barrios gets a yellow when VAR is at hand. Ridiculous.

Janet: Dele Alli is clearly in pain and a passenger... Loftus-Cheek or anyone without a thigh strain would do

    Colombia 0-0 England

The second half has started very scrappily. This has been a tough watch. Dele Alli goes down on the edge of the area, no foul.

  16. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

I don't think Jordan Henderson has got on the ball enough and he has not looked for it enough.

Colombia have just come here to spoil and knock England out of their rhythm.

  17. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Colombia 0-0 England

Given England's record, it's probably not a bad idea for any side to target a penalty shootout against them.

Gareth Southgate said the other day that he's had a strategy for pens in place since March. I hope it's 'score the lot.'

  18. Postpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Spartak Stadium, Moscow

The interval arrived with the game descending into an ill-disciplined mess and England clearly feeling Wilmar Barrios should have seen red for a head-butt on Jordan Henderson before a free-kick.

Colombia are happy to make this a scrap. England need to avoid that.

This has been a World Cup last-16 game with little quality but the size of the occasion and the prize on offer, a quarter-final against Sweden, means it is an occasion gripped with tension.

  19. 'Bizarre decision'published at 20:08 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Danny Murphy
    Former England midfielder

I am absolutely amazed by Dele Alli. It is a bizarre decision not to take him off. He is limping. It is his old injury.

This could be a tough half to endure. Colombia seem happy with a niggly game. Can England come through it?
