I think the injury to Chris Stokes was a major turning point. The stoppage allowed Exeter to regroup and they came forward, used the extra man and took some of that momentum away from Coventry.

Marc McNulty has had a couple of great half chances that maybe he could have got his foot through and finished.

If Sky Blues can get Tom Bayliss into the game, he might be the key man here. Exeter have started two left-backs today so they're looking out for him, wary of letting him into the game. If Coventry can use him, he could change the game.

I think the Exeter City fans have to be satisfied with that performance. Exeter have set up like it's an away performance and they've been pretty solid defensively.

They'll be pleased with how this has gone for a first half. But I think we'll see some changes in the second half, going to two up top.

It's a stalemate at the break at a very warm Wembley.

Time for both sets of players, staff and fans to get themselves a cool drink, I reckon.

We're in the midst of three minutes of additional time in the first half and Coventry aren't easing off.

They're doing their best to keep possession and Jordan Shipley plays a near one-two with Tom Bayliss but can't quite get his long-range shot away before it's blocked by Exeter.

At the other end, Jack Grimmer plays a speculative ball into the box but Exeter to well to deal with the danger and manage to clear it away.

Meanwhile, Jordan Storey puts in a crucial intervention as a long ball is played into the box towards the onrushing Coventry striker Marc McNulty.

Exeter are pressing more now than they had been in the opening 25 mintues of this game. Craig Woodman crosses in towards Hiram Boateng but the ball evades him and bounces away to the far touchline.

This is better from the Grecians!

That injury to Chris Stokes seems to have stopped the momentum for Coventry. Sky Blues had a 10-minute spell where they were all over Exeter but that stoppage let Exeter stop, breathe and find a foothold again. It's more level-pegging now.

Exeter’s lone striker Jayden Stockley is looking frustrated - their 4-1-4-1 formation isn’t giving him a lot of support in attack.

At the other end Marc McNulty looks a proper old-fashioned talisman, involved in everything, but he’s been kept quiet in the past 10 minutes.

Mistimed pass from Marc McNulty sees a lovely passing move from Coventry break down as Exeter win a throw-in in their own half.

The tempo has calmed down at the minute, possibly due to the heat. Half-time is edging nearer.

Jordan Shipley tries his luck with a shot from outside the box, but the Coventry man fails to get the better of Christy Pym, who does well to collect his effort.

This game's livening up at either end, now!

Ryan Harley unleashes Exeter's first shot on goal, this time from outside the 18-yard line, but Lee Burge easily catches his effort.

Meanwhile, television replays show Coventry's Michael Doyle appeared to clatter his arm into the chest of Jake Taylor but it doesn't appear that the officials saw any wrongdoing.

It's important Exeter City start playing their own game now. They need to settle down and stamp their own authority on the game. They've got here, at this stage of the season, by being a good football side.

I don't want to see any arguing among the Exeter City defence. Jordan Storey is a young player and they need to rally round each other when they make mistakes.

I can't undersell how hot it will be down on the pitch. If it remains this hot, cramp will become a factor.

There's a break in play as Chris Stokes puts an ice pack to his face after Jayden Stockley's arm clatters into him after a challenge for an aerial ball.

Stokes goes down the tunnel to receive further treatment, meaning the Sky Blues are down to 10 men for the time being.

Jack Grimmer plays down the right wing for Coventry and tries to find Tom Bayliss with a cross but his delivery is scuffed and goes out for a goal kick.

A chance wasted but Mark Robins' side will be happy with how the game has progressed so far.

Coventry are moving the ball so well and Exeter are not moving their backline up or pressing at all. It's giving Coventry the time and space to hold onto possession and then spring an attack. It might not look like they're hurting Exeter but they're constantly poised to.

Jordan Shipley is the latest Coventry player to shoot on goal. He works onto a Marc McNulty pass inside the box, finds the space to turn and fire goalwards, but it deflects out for a corner.

The 40,000 Coventry City fans in attendance are loving this.

Coventry City are passing the ball about so well. They are dominating possession deep into Exeter's half.

Yet again, Marc McNulty tries his luck but the Sky Blues striker's 25-yard low effort is well collected by Exeter goalkeeper Christy Pym.

That was very sound defending from Jordan Storey to deny Marc McNulty. I thought McNulty had done enough because his touch was excellent.

Marc McNulty looked like he was away in the box after latching onto a long pass that carves the Exeter defence up. The Sky Blues striker was through and almost put Coventry ahead inside the opening 15 minutes.

But Jordan Storey is on hand to put an outstanding tackle in to deny McNulty a shot on goal. Heart in mouth time for the Grecians' faithful.
