I happen to be sat nearer the Coventry supporters and I have to say every time they find their voice I get goosebumps.

The Sky Blues players surely can’t fail to be inspired by the backing they’ve got.

But remember, you’ve got to play the game and not the ‘occasion’.

Jordan Moore-Taylor and Coventry's Maxime Biamou end up in a heap when the Sky Blues striker attempts to win possession at the corner.

Fortunately for Exeter, they win a free-kick and the threat is neutralised.

    Coventry 0-0 Exeter

Jordan Shipley plays a cross into the box towards his Coventry City team-mate Tom Bayliss but it's just got too much power on it as it sails across his path.

Coventry have started brighter here, but will that come back to haunt them on a hot May afternoon?

Meanwhile, both sets of fans applaud nine minutes into this game in tribute to former Coventry striker Cyrille Regis and Exeter striker Adam Stansfield.

We saw, then, exactly what Marc McNulty and Max Biamou need to do in their link-up play. If Biamou can keep getting himself among Exeter's centre-halves, he can help McNulty find a lot of joy.

Marc McNulty has almost scored an audacious effort from long range.

Coventry City's top scorer takes the ball on his chest before volleying a dipping effort from well outside the box that sails over the bar.

That would have been some goal if it went in.

Games like this often start cagey while the two teams figure each other out. This one has settled quite well already, but I think 10 or 15 minutes in, you'll see slight changes in formation.

Wembley might be boiling hot this afternoon but the coolest man in the ground has to be the Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale.

He's standing on the touchline with a suave pair of sunglasses on, I must say. Get that man an ice cream.

The Chuckle Brothers' beloved Rotherham United won promotion through the League One play-offs yesterday, becoming the ninth third-tier team to be promoted via the play-offs after finishing two places below the automatic promotion spots.

That's as juicy stat, I'm sure you'll agree, but what about today's big game? Luckily, stats bod Simon Gleave at Gracenote Sports has found out these little nuggets of information.

    • Exeter City finished fourth in League Two this season and will hope to join the other 14 teams who finished as the highest-ranked team to win promotion through the play-off final. The last fourth-placed team to win promotion? Fleetwood Town in 2014.
    • Meanwhile, Coventry City finished sixth in League Two, a position which has produced only five fourth-tier play-off winners; Leyton Orient (1989), Cambridge United (1990), Torquay United (1991), Bristol Rovers (2007) and Stevenage (2011).

Who's going to get the luck of the draw today?

It's really hot so I think today will provide a test of stamina and fitness. Mark Robins has worked with Coventry on that, so they should be really fit and come out on top there.

I really don't know how it will go today. In theory, Exeter are a better side, but Coventry have got better as the season has gone on. There's very little between the two teams. I'm very much 50:50.

Robins' mantra for the past few months has been 'enjoy it'. He keeps telling his players that, and it looked like they were doing that towards the end of the season. I think there's a lot of pressure and expectation on Coventry, but he made the point this week that he played at Wembley very early on in his career and thought, this is great - I'd love to do this every year. Then it didn't work out like that - it doesn't. He wants his players to work hard but to enjoy it, too.

Ticket sales have told us Sky Blues fans will outnumber the Exeter fans by a ratio of 3:1 - that could be an advantage for them.

In the far stand at Wembley, Exeter fans have laid out a giant Adam Stansfield shirt to remember their former number nine.

'Stanno', as he was fondly known, died of cancer in 2010 at the age of 31.

He made more than 150 appearances for the Grecians and the club retired his shirt number for nine years after his passing.

  20. Could today decide Paul Tisdale's future?published at 14:36 British Summer Time 28 May 2018

    Coventry v Exeter (15:00 BST)

    Geoff Doyle
    BBC Three Counties Radio

This afternoon could really be the last time we see Paul Tisdale - who became the longest-serving manager in the 92 following Arsene Wenger's departure - in charge of Exeter City.

He's been heavily linked to MK Dons. I think most people related to MK Dons think he is the man for them, but that could depend on what happens today. If Exeter go up, will he leave them to join a relegated MK Dons? Would he get out of League Two to go back down? It wouldn't make sense, but sometimes these things do occur.

I think he's got a good reputation, certainly with the general fan. For someone to spend that amount of time at a football club tells you things can't be that bad, especially in this age where managers rarely last longer than two years.
