Image source, Getty ImagesAlthough France's 1982 exploits will be remembered for penalties agony in the semi-finals against West Germany and the agony felt by Patrick Battiston when he was almost decapitated by keeper Harald Schumacher, the squad should also be remembered for their lovely v-necked jersey with the famous Gallic rooster badge proudly... roostering.
They have a tough first-round match against Peru 1978. Who can forget the white kit with the diagonal red stripe? Nobby Solano must have a stash of them in his cupboard.

Nick Bruzon: Only two man-made objects are visible from Outer Space. The Great Wall of China and the lion’s head on Cameroon’s Italia 90 shirt. It’s an absolute thing of beauty, too. A modern day seventh wonder of the world. There’ll be no justice if this doesn’t win
