Am I crazy to think that a loss here and a few bad results and Klopp might be in the firing line? There's plenty of tried and tested PL managers (Moyes, Pardew, Pulis) waiting for a shot at managing Liverpool if he does.

That was good from Christian Benteke. Diagonal run out to the right, held the ball well and released Jeffrey Schlupp.

The issue with Benteke is that we've seen him do it in the past - the physique, the power. He sometimes looks disinterested and you always feel like there's so much more. He was a massive disappointment last season but Roy Hodgson is persisting with him.

Jeffrey Schlupp can hit them. We saw that last weekend.

He lets lose with another attempted pile-driver but his radar is a little off this time, the ball skipping wide of the far post.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is popular in these parts. And you can see why. He's quality.

Sadio Mane tries to trick and turn his way past the full-back but he's no fool. He stands his ground and times his tackle to perfection before clearing.

'You can take your Cruyff turn and do one, Sadio.'

It's a lovely touch initially from Firmino into Salah and the ball pops out to Keita. I think he should do better there - he just scuffs the shot.

Palace are coming back into this a bit now. They are at least getting the ball to their front men more.

Still nothing for Zaha to get his teeth into yet, though.

    Liverpool's turn to threaten.

Mohamed Salah's effort is deflected to Naby Keita on an angle on the left and his shot looks to be on target. Wayne Hennessey dives to block and concede a corner.

The set-piece comes to nothing, though.

Only two goals last season for Andros Townsend. He is capable of so much more, as that effort shows.

He should be looking to threaten double figures.

Grahame: No surprises then, Palace going to defend all night. The reds will eventually get through

James, London: I fully expect teams to do this to Liverpool, but this season I have a lot more faith in our bench to change the game. Shaqiri assist for Sturridge winner.

Jitto10: Typical Liverpool no Plan B. They will struggle to break this Palace team down!

    What an effort!

Andros Townsend is so, so close to giving Palace the lead with their very first effort on goal.

Naby Keita loses possession and Townsend picks it up, cutting inside before unleashing a dipping, curling shot from 25 yards that hammers against the crossbar.

How good was that from Naby Keita? Turns his marker and plays a sublime ball over the top.

I think Mo Salah should score. Last season that would have been in the back of the net. You can see the frustration on his face. That was a big chance for Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah misses. I'll let that sink in.

Naby Keita does all the hard work with aplomb, losing a man in his own half before carrying and then floating the ball over the top and into the stride of Salah, who has broken the offside trap.

Out comes Hennessey. Salah clears him but also the bar with his chip. Best chance yet.

Little Sadio Mane clattered into Wayne Hennessey there. You'd expect your keeper to be stronger than that - that was like David and Goliath!

Ball is in the net. Liverpool fans are cheering. But a referee's whistle later and it is the Palace fans cheering, partly in relief.

Trent Alexander-Arnold produces his best cross of the night, right into the mixer. Sadio Mane challenges Wayne Hennessey and via one of them the ball trickles in. A foul on the keeper is the ruling, though.

Ash Williams: Salah not yet looking as switched on as he was last season

Kings Gambit 6: TAA final ball has been poor in both games which is surprising. Really thought Klopp would have gone for Clyne especially with Zaha

    Palace get away with one.

Mamadou Sakho's pass out from the edge of his own box is awful and deflected back towards goal by Naby Keita. Mohamed Salah has a sniff but the ball cannons off him and into the arms of Hennessey.

Sakho breathes a sigh of relief. Palace will be up against it enough as it is without gifting their opponent chances on a silver platter.

Sadio Mane danced past Aaron Wan-Bissaka there and you're thinking the defender has to get this one right. And that's exactly what he did - got back really well.

Palace don't need any reminding about the potency of Sadio Mane. He takes Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the cleaners down the left initially, but the young full-back does superbly to get back and tackle. He even wins a goal-kick. Top stuff.

Roy Hodgson's teams do this so well. They're so well-drilled, with no spaces anywhere and they're frustrating Liverpool a little bit.
