Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to Sky Sports: "We were pleased with our first game. Liverpool at home is always going to be tough. The three points last week takes away some of the stress of this.

"We are not the only team to have a player of Zaha's type but we are very grateful for our one. His record for goals and points for us is there for all to see. I am sure tonight he wants to show why he has signed his new contract."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: "Like always, it is pretty much the same team we play last time. They have had a good run of results. It is our job to calm this place down a bit. We have to play our own game."

Palace received an almighty boost last week when Wilfried Zaha signed a new five-year deal. The Ivory Coast international, 25, had been linked with a move to Tottenham or Chelsea, external in the summer transfer window.

"We think very highly of him both as a person and a player, and he's got even a talismanic quality, being from this part of the world and starting his career at Crystal Palace," said Palace boss Roy Hodgson.

"He's very, very good; all players have got qualities of course, and there aren't many players who can literally do every single thing.

"But he scores top marks in so many aspects of the game, and when it comes to dribbling and manipulating the ball and going past opponents, I put him up there with the very best."

He's in my fantasy team. Probably in yours as well.

Tell you what, those Liverpool substitutes are packing a bit of a punch.

Henderson, Sturridge, Moreno, Lallana, Mignolet, Shaqiri, Matip. You'd take that.

I reckon that's the strongest Reds bench since the one that had to support Neil Ruddock and Jan Molby.

Nick, Herts: I was lucky enough to play in a charity 6 a side tournament at Stamford Bridge in May through work. As well as the standard best player and top scorer individual awards, there was one for best celebration. The deserved winner was for a lad who scored, hurdled the advertising hoardings, ran up to about the 10th row, sat down and applauded his goal. Genius...

Suggestions of Palace as something of a bogey team for Liverpool are a touch misleading.

Liverpool have actually won four of their last five Premier League meetings between the sides, although that does come after a run of three straight defeats.

The Reds have also scored 22 Premier League goals at Selhurst Park, more than any away side has scored.

West Ham were wide open against Liverpool last week, but the Reds will not get the same treatment in south London.

Eagles manager Roy Hodgson will not give them any space - it is a big part of the way his teams play - and his side will keep this game very tight.

When did this 'Crystanbul' term become a thing? Granted, I'm probably lining myself up to be shot down for how ignorant I am, but I hadn't heard it until this week and now suddenly it's getting thrown around like Shakespeare coined it.

Totally with Chris on the consistency bit. But ruthless? I don't know.

Since Jurgen Klopp took charge in October 2015, Liverpool's Premier League games have produced 341 goals, more than any other team in that period.

If they get any more ruthless they'll start eating their own young.

In line with that, we'd like you to tell us of the weirdest celebration you've ever seen. Could be from a professional, but even better if it was one of your mates down the park. Top marks to any pictures you can send us.

Not really surprising that team news.

Both teams won their opening games and did it with a bit of style. Neither have fresh injury problems.

Highly rated German midfielder Max Meyer is on Crystal Palace's bench after missing the opening win over Fulham. Jordan Ayew is another player hoping to make his debut as a sub.

Alisson starts in goal again for Liverpool, with Simon Mignolet on the bench as Loris Karius looks set to join Besiktas.

Defender Joel Matip - who has not played since March because of injury - is a sub after recovering, but Joe Gomez partners Virgil van Dijk again.

Palace are, of course, aiming for a second successive win to start the season themselves.

They managed a potentially tricky opening day game at newly-promoted Fulham with aplomb and now have the chance to match the start made by Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Watford.

They have a bit of recent history when it comes to ensuring Liverpool's best-laid plans go awry...

The Reds take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tonight, which is, with all due respect to Huddersfield, a tougher task than the one Man City faced on Sunday. We are, of course, still way too early in the season to be drawing any cast-iron conclusions.

But dropping points here would be an early blow to Jurgen Klopp's side. If they have genuine title aspirations (and they've spent enough to suggest they saw this campaign as an opportunity) they really don't want to be falling behind early doors.

When you're a world-class sprinter you don't want to slip a meter into a race with Usain Bolt.

In the week that saw the release of a £10m documentary about them called 'All or Nothing', Manchester City decided to resolve the choice. It would appear they've gone with 'All'.

They put six goals past poor Huddersfield on Sunday during a display of such staggering superiority it fully justified their fans taunting chants to the Terriers of "you lucky *ahem* it should have been 10".

As the team tipped by most to be City's likeliest challengers this season, Liverpool have a hell of a job on their hands just to cling on to the coattails.
