  1. Liverpool's best start to a Premier League seasonpublished at 89 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

Even without that third goal, Liverpool are closing in on a fifth win from their first five league games, which would be their best start to a season since 1990-91. Their fans are enjoying themselves too, and are currently making a lot of noise.

Gordon: I’m not convinced Dier is good enough for Tottenham. Makes too many mistakes and seems to have plateaued.

Ben Askins: Dier has been very appropriately named today

Ash Williams: Eric Dier is so overrated

I can't remember Tottenham creating a single chance in the final third... and they are the home side! Pretty football at times but nothing dangerous at all.

There is something not right about Spurs, with their energy levels seemingly so low. Has Kane had a single shot? Has Eriksen been on the pitch in this second half?

  4. Spurs still have hopepublished at 86 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is going ballistic with his forwards for failing to put this game to bed, and here is why.

Spurs work the ball forward and Erik Lamela has a pop. His shot is off target, but not by much.

Moments later, Lamela turns provider, as Spurs find Kane at the back post. His header is looping goalwards but it is easily dealt with by Allison.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 83 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

Both sides decide it is time to make a change.

Daniel Sturridge replaces Naby Keita for Liverpool.

For Spurs, Victor Wanyama is on for Eric Dier

  6. Liverpool have more chances to get a thirdpublished at 82 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

A third goal would really put the seal on a great day for Liverpool, and they almost get it here.

Again, the Reds have men over as Mo Salah picks up the ball on the right but he goes for goal himself, cutting in and letting fly... with a shot that Vorm tips away.

Moments later, Sadio Mane does something similar, electing to have a shot himself rather than teeing up a team-mate. His shot is tame, and Vorm easily saves it.

  7. Spurs short of time to turn this aroundpublished at 89 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

We've just had a delay while Eric Dier received some treatment, but he is able to continue. His Tottenham side have got just over 10 minutes left to turn this one around, but they do not look much like doing it at the moment.

Robert Enright: I hope Firminho is okay after being gently brushed across the face. Sending my best.

Kush K: Players should be checked for long nails - it's basic hygiene!

Khan Karn: Surely that slap on the face (although only fingers hit Firmino) warrant a red card for Vertongen. Clear intention.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 75 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

Jordan Henderson is on the pitch now, but it was Roberto Firmino who came off in the end. At the moment Naby Keita is playing up front for the Reds.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

A change for Liverpool, with Reds skipper Jordan Henderson about to come on for Naby Keita to help to see this one out.

I say about to, because Roberto Firmino is down and getting treatment after a clash with Jan Vertonghen... it looks like he got scratched in the face.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wants to see how Firmino is before taking Keita off.

Meanwhile, Spurs make a change. Heung-min Son is back from winning the Asian Games with South Korea and replaces Harry Winks.

John: Is Harry Kane still on the pitch? Very quiet day for him.

Conor: Another big game, another disappearing act from Harry Kane. Personification of Spurs really, great against sub-par teams and then do nothing when it comes to crunch time.

  12. 'The home fans are getting frustrated'published at 13:55 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

    Chris Waddle

Liverpool have looked so, so good on the counter-attack today. They have slipped the ball so easily behind the Tottenham back four at times.

However, Liverpool's good play has, at times, been equalled by how poor Tottenham's has been. Almost 65 minutes gone and the home fans are getting frustrated because they've simply not seen enough quality.

  13. Kane cannot find the finishpublished at 67 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

The more men Spurs commit forward, the more vulnerable they look at the back.

They are still trying to find a way back into this game, though, and get another sniff when Christian Eriksen's cross-shot falls behind Harry Kane, whose attempted flicked finish flies away from goal, not towards it.

Chris Baldwin: A fair scoreline for a club who are happy with what they have got vs a club who are trying to win things. Spurs are getting what they deserve here.

Sam: For all the fuss about how poor the players have been, which they have, why is Pochettino being so stubborn in not bringing on Son? Too late now, should've done it at half-time.

  15. Liverpool should have wrapped this uppublished at 64 mins

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

Things almost get worse for Spurs. Where is their defence?

Liverpool are three versus two as Sadio Mane runs into the Spurs area and he chooses to set up Naby Keita to his left rather than Mo Salah to his right.

Keita lets fly with a stinging shot, but it is too close to Michel Vorm, who pushes the ball over the bar.

Liverpool are cruising this as they make another impressive statement of Premier League title intent.

Spurs. on the other hand, have mysteriously looked pretty much out on their feet from the first whistle, lethargic in all areas and short of ideas.

    Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool

    Chris Waddle

Kieran Tripper, who usually plays wing-back for both Tottenham and England, is in a back four this afternoon and unfortunately he's been caught ball watching. He allowed Mane to run in behind and though Vertonghen managed to get a touch on it he is let down again by his keeper Vorm, who should have held onto it. It went right through his hands!

Firmino cannot believe his luck - he just picks up the loose ball and taps it in.
