  1. Who got the final touch?published at 3 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

Just looking at that disallowed goal again. Roberto Firmino, who was definitely onside, was the man who got the touch on the cross at the near post. Sadio Mane went to meet Firmino's flick, but did not get on the end of it - that intent was apparently still enough to rule it out though.

  2. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 1 min

    Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

Almost a sensational start for Liverpool. Almost.

With a matter of seconds gone, the Reds' first attack sees a cross from the right turned home by Sadio Mane, who wheels away in a celebration that is cut short by the linesman's flag.

Mane has stepped up for Liverpool, and I think that is the difference between both teams. If you took Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah out, Liverpool are more likely to adapt.

Mane has stepped up and with Firmino they have so many goals in their front three . Mane has been fantastic this season, he’s on a run and Liverpool are enjoying the benefits.

  5. 'It's under control'published at 12:28 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino on speculation over the fitness of Harry Kane: "When a striker does not fill the net and does not score goals, always you need to find some reason why but I think he is fit.

"The most [important] thing here is the confidence and trust we have in him.

"We know Harry Kane very well and have worked with him for more than four years and we know it's not a situation that worries us. It's under control."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "You go through the line-up of Tottenham and realise they can replace even Dele Alli and [Hugo] Lloris.

"They will be a really strong side and no I don't think it's the perfect time to play Tottenham."

Harry Kane does not look sharp, though I don't believe he's exhausted. But his body language this season, whereas he's normally very enthusiastic, has not got that zip about it.

And remember, teams will now understand Kane's strengths and will defend accordingly. That means he has to have a Plan B as a striker, and if he doesn't have one he'll get found out.

Mind you, I've just watched him competing in some 30 yard sprints in the warm-up. He's won them! He's not tired!

The meeting between Spurs and Liverpool is one of the most intriguing so far this season, with both sides hoping this might be their year for a serious title challenge.

LIverpool have won their first four league games while Spurs put their marker down with a 3-0 win at Manchester United.

Wembley is the perfect stage for such an attractive fixture - and it is bringing interest from the superstars of other sports.

One of the early arrivals in the Wembley car park was the great former Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist, who has made the tough choice between Premier League action and usual thrils of the T20 Blast Finals Day.

This is one of the games you always look forward to in a season. The stadium is filing up and it should be a cracking atmosphere. These two teams tend to go for it - let's hope they don't disappoint.

Look at all the internationals, such impressive players, filling up the Liverpool bench. Tottenham's squad is full of footballers heavily involved in the World Cup, and though they have had some good results this season they have not played impressively. And the manager has actually said he saw the Watford defeat coming.

Chris Ballett: Hoping for Spurs' sake that they've discussed neutralising Liverpool's gegenpress by ensuring they don't pass the ball to Eric Dier: he's surely key to Liverpool's plans.

Imran Nongsaibam: This match will be evenly matched!

Daniel Potter: As a Spurs fan I was really looking forward to this game. The chance to watch Lucas and Son in the same team and Gazzaniga in goal. Sadly no Son but with Vorm in goal (who doesn't seem to dive) I fancy a Liverpool win now.

  12. Three or four at the back for Spurs?published at 12:23 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

A bit of debate going on whether Tottenham will line up with a three or four-man defence today. Eric Dier could drop in alongside Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, or operate alongside Mousa Dembele and Harry Winks in midfield... but we will find out soon enough.

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

    Jermaine Jenas

It’s obviously a very serious topic. I've been a captain myself at most of the clubs I've been at and you are supposed to lead by example. I was at Tottenham when Hugo signed and I know him reasonably well.

Do I want him stripped of the captaincy? My answer is no. I'm not just saying it because it's Hugo. It's maybe not the line people want to hear because they want punishment.

I think he knows he's let himself, his family and the club down. It will be interesting to see what France do and whether he retains the captaincy with them.

  14. 'Lucky' Lloris keeps captaincypublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was "lucky there was no consequence" of his drink-driving - but he will keep the Spurs captaincy.

The 31-year-old was fined £50,000 and banned from driving for 20 months after admitting the offence.

"It is a lesson, a massive life lesson," Pochettino said.

"But he has the capacity to move on and to learn and be focused on football."

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

Tottenham's solitary win in their 11 most recent Premier League games against Liverpool was a 4-1 victory at Wembley last season.

The only time the Reds have failed to score in their last 12 league matches against Spurs was in Jurgen Klopp's first game in charge back in October 2015.

The 149 goals scored in Premier League matches between these sides is second only to the 151 goals in the Arsenal-Everton fixture.

We're in for a treat... hopefully.

  18. Watch out for the rocket, man....published at 12:08 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 GMT)

Tottenham no longer have a 100% record in 2018-19 after their disappointing defeat against Watford before the international break, with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino describing their performance as being like in a testimonial.

“If you watch again, you see we played so slow, so sloppy, from the beginning. It was like we thought ‘Okay, it is a nice afternoon in Watford, Elton John is in the stands. It was like going for a walk in Hyde Park with my child.

“If Saturday we play the same way, rather than take off players I will be on the phone to say ‘Houston, we have a problem’."

Speaking of problems, I can see a big one with this half-and-half scarf for today's game. Who is the bloke on the right meant to be?

  19. 100% for Liverpool, 0% for Klopp...published at 12:04 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

So, Liverpool have already beaten West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester this season… but will their 100% record survive a trip to Wembley?

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp does not have very happy history here, having lost on all three of his previous competitive* visits – the 2013 Champions League final when he was Borussia Dortmund boss, the 2016 League Cup final a few months after he took charge of Liverpool and – of course - an absolute walloping against Spurs last season.

*His only win under the arch was a 4-0 win over Barcelona in the International Champions Cup in August 2016. Impressive, but that was just a pre-season friendly...

Former Fulham defender Brede Hangeland, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, about Cottagers forward Aleksandar Mitrovic: "He's been impressive and just seems to feel right at home at Fulham.

"He's running around, bossing central defenders and scoring goals. He's going to be a key for Fulham. I fear a bit at the other end of the pitch but I think Fulham will be fine.

"I admire the way they are trying to play - they're really having a go and are one of the most entertaining teams around."
