Former Fulham defender Brede Hangeland, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live: "Chelsea are a joy to watch. With more work they will improve but Maurizio Sarri is right - Manchester City and Liverpool are ahead.

"I wouldn't be surprised if at some point Sarri sticks Eden Hazard forward if Alvaro Morata does not deliver."

  3. Vardy back from suspensionpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Bournemouth v Leicester (15:00 BST)

    John Roder
Match of the Day commentator at the Vitality Stadium

It has been an excellent international break for Leicester, with Ben Chilwell making his England debut and Demarai Gray on the bench for the friendly against Switzerland at the King Power Stadium, and Harry Maguire signing a new deal.

Add in the fact that Jamie Vardy returns from suspension and the Foxes will be confident of a first Premier League win over Bournemouth.

The Cherries have made their best start to a season since reaching the top division, and a much better beginning than last year when they lost their opening four matches.

The meetings between these two sides since Bournemouth came up in 2015 suggests another tight low-scoring encounter may well be on the cards.

Liverpool spent £150m this summer. They have improved areas of the team where they were weak last season. You cannot ignore what Liverpool did to Manchester City last season. It felt a little bit like Jurgen Klopp had Pep Guardiola's number.

This is a huge game for Mauricio Pochettino. I do look at Liverpool and think they are a stronger side than Tottenham.

  5. Who is Monaco's Pietro Pellegri?published at 11:41 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

He was billed as the "next Lionel Messi" by his boyhood club's owner when still a schoolboy, broke records in his debut season in Serie A and has since earned a big-money move to Monaco.

Pietro Pellegri, 17, is one of Europe's brightest young talents.

The Italian striker came through the ranks at Genoa and made his debut in December 2016, becoming the joint-youngest player in Serie A history at 15 years and 280 days.

Here, we look at him in profile.

Huzzy Mustafa: Early kick offs are always a dampener on the weekend. Big games need to be Sunday clashes. #TOTLIVE this could well be a lethargic 0-0 draw.

    Chelsea v Cardiff (15:00 BST)

    Jonathan Pearce
BBC Match of the Day commentator at Stamford Bridge

A Welshman has already turned up the heat on Chelsea this week. Baker Jon Jenkins was richly praised for his Cardiff version of Chelsea buns on Great British Bake Off. He iced them with a Bluebirds' badge. Judge Prue Leith described Jon's buns as "nice and spongy".

Neil Warnock's defence will have to soak up Chelsea like a sponge in this. He's enduring his worst run as Cardiff boss - six games without a win.

Maurizio Sarri should become only the fourth manager to win his first five Premier League fixtures. There's a niggling doubt though.

Nine of Chelsea's expected line-up are back from exhausting international duty. Cardiff mostly stayed at home. It could be a factor unless the visitors try to play open football.

They'll get burned if they do. Unlike Jon's buns.

  8. Will Huddersfield be buoyed by the late referee change?published at 11:34 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

Huddersfield v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

    Vicki Sparks
BBC Radio 5 live at John Smith's Stadium

Roy Hodgson, who celebrated a year in charge of Crystal Palace this week, will be desperate to have Wilfried Zaha back for this one - Palace have lost their last 12 Premier League matches in which their key man hasn't featured.

Christian Benteke's knee injury takes the struggling striker out of the spotlight for now - will Jordan Ayew seize the chance to impress?

Huddersfield are still hunting for their first win of the season, and scoring goals remains a familiar problem. Superstitious fans will hope referee Lee Mason's late call up to replace Graham Scott will provide them with luck - Huddersfield have won just once in 11 matches with Scott in charge.

Fulham are going to provide some real entertainment this season. There have been 16 goals scored in their four league games so far this season - only Arsenal's games can match that tally.

Whilst Slavisa Jokanovic loves to get Fulham attacking (Aleksandar Mitrovic is currently the joint-top scorer in the Premier League), they display a defensive vulnerability which allowed Brighton to claw back a two-goal deficit in their last game.

Manchester City are fearsome opponents at the best of times - but if your defence isn't quite functioning, then they're the last team you want to face.

You can only conclude that Fulham's wait for a first away win back in the top flight is unlikely to end here.

Team news will drop shortly but here's what injury news we have ahead of the match at Wembley between Tottenham and Liverpool.

Spurs midfielder Dele Alli will be absent because of the hamstring injury he picked up while playing for England last weekend.

Captain Hugo Lloris remains sidelined by a thigh problem but Son Heung-min is available after helping South Korea win gold at the Asian Games.

Liverpool's Adam Lallana will miss out with the groin strain that caused him to pull out of the England squad.

Reserve goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is fit after a hand injury.

Former Fulham defender Brede Hangeland, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live: "I'd rather play against Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez than Marcus Rashford.

"That's because when Rashford gets the ball in the right position he will just run at you and that's a nightmare situation for a defender

"Lukaku is a physical battle. If you stand up to that then you have half a chance. against him."

Watford v Man Utd (17:30 BST)

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on Radio 5 live

One of the big issues is people look at Marcus Rashford and go 'this guy is the next one, he's going to kick-on'. He's been around a reasonable amount of time and I still feel he is still being treated like a young player. He may be young in age but he's not young in experience and what he has achieved.

Is he developing? Is he moving forward? Is he scoring the goals we expect him to? I would probably say he is not. He's a top player but I am not seeing the kick-on that I expected to see. That's because he is being held back by coming on as a substitute, then maybe starting and being dragged off first. He's not getting any confidence through playing like that.

Everton v West Ham (Sunday, 16:00 BST)

Former West Ham and Wales defender James Collins, speaking to BBC Radio 5 live's The Friday Football Social, on his future after being released by the Hammers: "Fingers crossed I will have something sorted in the next couple of weeks.

"I'd go anywhere but you can only go where you are wanted. I know I can still play in the Premier League. I was sad to leave West Ham. I have been keeping fit by training at West Ham and I was holding on to that for too long.

"They didn't get off to the best of starts this season and I was still training there. In the back of my head I was thinking 'hang on a minute, if I carry on training I might get a chance [of a new contract]' but that wasn't going to happen.

"I've spoken to a few clubs and it was quite well known I was training at Ipswich last week and I'm still in contact with them. I still think I've got plenty in the legs."

  19. Six-goal thriller?published at 10:53 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

    Guy Mowbray
Match of the Day commentator at Wembley

With the first break in the season over, we need a blockbuster to welcome back the Premier League.

Liverpool need a test, and they're sure to get it in a fixture they spectacularly failed in last year - although it was the spark for a near three-month, 18-game unbeaten run.

Their perfect start to the new campaign makes them slight favourites to win at Wembley this time.

They certainly will if the 'old Spurs' appears again, as happened at Watford two weeks ago, with a capitulation that prompted Mauricio Pochettino to seemingly question his team's character.

That can't and won't be an issue for this one. Six-goal thriller anyone?
