    Southampton 0-0 Arsenal

The home crowd get excited as Nathan Redmond dances past his man, but his cutback is easily dealt with by the returning Laurent Koscielny. Confidence is fragile among the Saints. They did go 2-0 up against Manchester United recently of course...

    Brighton 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea get the ball into the box inside 20 seconds as Willian whips in a decent cross, but the ball had already gone out of play. Chelsea in all yellow today.

Last season you came to Liverpool knowing it's going to be brilliant, it's going to be entertaining.

This season it's a little bit different. They're winning but it's not just about playing good football. There's a real product and identity to what they do.

It's a developing Liverpool, but you have to ask if you want winning football or entertaining football and you keep coming second? I think most Liverpool fans would say they'd sacrifice a few goals for the title.

The way Liverpool are playing and winning at the moment means everyone is expecting them to beat United, but they have really struggled to get past them at Anfield when Mourinho has been in charge.

United may not be firing on all cylinders but they are dogged and determined - and they have already picked up a couple of excellent results on the road at Chelsea and Juventus this season.

So, we know United are capable of producing a decent performance, and we also know that it tends to happen when they are playing a team that is better than them.

That is Sunday's scenario, and I am expecting Mourinho to set his side up to frustrate Liverpool and pinch a point.

Liverpool v Man Utd (16:00 GMT)

Don't panic Manchester United fans, that isn't the score (well, not yet anyway). But it is the number of Liverpool players compared to United players in your combined XI.

As you can see it is not really a combined XI at all, with Paul Pogba the Red Devils' sole representative.

Disagree with those selections? Well you can still have a go yourself here.

  11. 'Top four realistic for Arsenal'published at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Southampton v Arsenal (13:30 GMT)

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

I think top four is a realistic possibility for Arsenal, but I don't think they will challenge for the title. I don't think Tottenham will either.

Both teams are third and fifth at the moment, and Chelsea can stay fourth today. But maybe Arsenal have it a bit easier, being in the Europa League - the ability to rest your squad for those games is a massive bonus.

The improvement is there for all to see at Arsenal. The style of play, the energy, the atmosphere and positivity around the place - it has changed dramatically.

I still think they need a couple of top quality defenders to challenge for the title though.

  13. Big test for Saintspublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Southampton v Arsenal (13:30 GMT)

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

I think it's a very big test for Southampton. They need to get a bounce effect (from Ralph Hasenhuttl's arrival) quickly.

If the players are to buy into a new manager that is pretty unknown, it has to start well. The players have to come up with a performance today, if not a result, that gives them some hope.

With Unai Emery, if it is not working by half-time, you come off. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a spell on the bench. The front line is scoring goals, they look solid in midfield and at the back with Bernd Leno in goal, it is chalk and cheese to what it was at the start of the season.

This is a team that was down to finish eighth at the start of the season but they now have a genuine chance of finishing in the top four, you have to be convinced by what Emery is doing.

  18. Southampton not the worst team in the leaguepublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Southampton v Arsenal (13:30 GMT)

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on Radio 5 live

I think Ralph Hasenhuttl is going to have a big impact on Southampton. From his time at RB Leipzig, he will get them playing a certain style of football.

Like Fulham, they are shocking at the back and make mistake after mistake. Hasenhuttl can do something.

With what Southampton have got, I don't think they are the worst team in the league.

  19. Postpublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

With Rob Holding out, the return of Laurent Koscielny is timely for Arsenal. I just hope he's not being asked to do too much, too soon.

For Southampton, where are the goals coming from? Danny Ings is back today, but they need more from Nathan Redmond and co.

  20. Arsenal have problems with Holding injurypublished at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Southampton v Arsenal (13:30 GMT)

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on Radio 5 live

I have been ridiculously impressed and shocked to the core by this Arsenal team.

At the start of the season I did not know what to expect. Against Chelsea they showed something and came through the Liverpool and Tottenham games with flying colours.

They were unlucky against Manchester United and could have got a better result against them. These are all benchmarks, everyone said they were going to fall.

They are going to finish fifth because the defensive situation is bad with Rob Holding getting injured, he was having a tremendous season.
