    Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle United

Chelsea look to tick it down, playing some keep-ball. The home fans find their voice once more. Newcastle can't get anything out of this game if they can't get the ball.

Was that Newcastle's chance? A teasing ball floated in, Salomon Rondon climbing, but the tame header trickles past the near post. Should he be doing better? Olivier Giroud is on, Eden Hazard has been withdrawn.

Nerves inside Stamford Bridge, with the home fans showing their support when it gets scrappy in midfield. Olivier Giroud is coming on, presumably to hold the ball up for the last few minutes.

The supporters are trying to remind Callum Hudson-Odoi that Stamford Bridge might be the best home for him.

He's been the subject of interest elsewhere.

In terms of the strategy of the club, it's a factory - they do make profits from the young players to then buy players from abroad and it's a shame some the younger boys get sold.

Newcastle have found a little something. Salomon Rondon is being a nuisance and the Magpies still have plenty of running in them. The back door, though, may get left open. Chelsea will fancy another on the break.

Double change for Newcastle, who are rolling the dice. Jacob Murphy and Javier Manquillo on for DeAndre Yedlin and Ayoze Perez.

Here comes Callum Hudson-Odoi, with Pedro getting warm applause after the goal he scored in the first half. Funny that Hudson-Odoi is seeing some league action after Bayern Munuch started sniffing around...

I'm sure there will be plenty of contenders for this but isn't David Luiz the most overrated footballer in history?

Hudson-Odoi is actually going to replace Pedro, but at the minute he's waiting for the ball to go out of play. A strange silence has descended upon the Bridge.

Hudson-Odoi is coming on, maybe for Willian. David Luiz is getting some treatment after taking a blow to the knee. It looks like he'll be OK to carry on.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Olivier Giroud continue to loosen up. They'll be shattered by the time they come on.

Luiz puts his laces through it. It wobbles, but wide of Dubravka's right post.

From being nearly anonymous in the first half, Eden Hazard is everywhere, right at the heart of everything Chelsea do. He's dropped deeper to see more of the ball, which leaves the problem of Chelsea not having a striker. Anyway, Blues free-kick, 30 yards out. David Luiz might give it some shoe...

DeAndre Yedlin has done a good job for Newcastle today in that wing back position.

He has played the role well along with Matt Ritchie on the other side.

Rafa Benitez is on the touchline, apparently expressing himself through the medium of dance. Right hand out, circular motion. Feet spread, hips rocking from side to side. It's like when Mr Burns tried to give baseball instructions to Homer Simpson.

Rafa Benitez has to go for it. I don't see any pride in trying to hold on this result and not conceding any more.

You've got to be brave and go for it and you never know what can happen to the opposition.

He keeps it tight but his team look strong and very fit to me but they have a chance. It can still happen.

It looked like Federico Fernández was going to replace Jamaal Lascelles, but for the moment the Newcastle skipper soldiers on. The bite has gone from the Magpies, though. A Chelsea third seems more likely than a Newcastle equaliser.

Newcastle might have to make a change here. Jamaal Lascelles has clattered the advertising boards and claret is spewing from his right knee.

Now then. Eden Hazard down on all fours, clobbered by a Newcastle challenge. In the mean time, one long David Luiz ball sets Willian free, with Martin Dubravka just about denying the Brazilian. Plenty happening.
