Was that Newcastle's chance? A teasing ball floated in, Salomon Rondon climbing, but the tame header trickles past the near post. Should he be doing better? Olivier Giroud is on, Eden Hazard has been withdrawn.

Nerves inside Stamford Bridge, with the home fans showing their support when it gets scrappy in midfield. Olivier Giroud is coming on, presumably to hold the ball up for the last few minutes.

The supporters are trying to remind Callum Hudson-Odoi that Stamford Bridge might be the best home for him.

He's been the subject of interest elsewhere.

In terms of the strategy of the club, it's a factory - they do make profits from the young players to then buy players from abroad and it's a shame some the younger boys get sold.

Newcastle have found a little something. Salomon Rondon is being a nuisance and the Magpies still have plenty of running in them. The back door, though, may get left open. Chelsea will fancy another on the break.

DeAndre Yedlin has done a good job for Newcastle today in that wing back position.

He has played the role well along with Matt Ritchie on the other side.

Rafa Benitez is on the touchline, apparently expressing himself through the medium of dance. Right hand out, circular motion. Feet spread, hips rocking from side to side. It's like when Mr Burns tried to give baseball instructions to Homer Simpson.

Rafa Benitez has to go for it. I don't see any pride in trying to hold on this result and not conceding any more.

You've got to be brave and go for it and you never know what can happen to the opposition.

He keeps it tight but his team look strong and very fit to me but they have a chance. It can still happen.

It looked like Federico Fernández was going to replace Jamaal Lascelles, but for the moment the Newcastle skipper soldiers on. The bite has gone from the Magpies, though. A Chelsea third seems more likely than a Newcastle equaliser.
