Chelsea have played in the FA Cup and the League Cup since their last Premier League outing and make two changes to the side that was frustrated in a stalemate against Southampton.

Mateo Kovacic and the fit-again Pedro replace Alvaro Morata and Ross Barkley. Eden Hazard leads the line.

Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Pedro, Hazard, Willian. Subs: Barkley, Caballero, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi, Christensen, Emerson, Ampadu.

Newcastle make three changes to the side that lost to Manchester United in their last Premier League match. Most notably is the inclusion of 21-year-old midfielder Sean Longstaff, a product of the Newcastle academy who came off the bench in the defeat at Liverpool on Boxing Day.

Newcastle: Dubravka, Yedlin, Lejeune, Lascelles, Clark, Ritchie, Perez, Longstaff, Hayden, Atsu, Rondon. Subs: Schar, Murphy, Fernandez, Manquillo, Joselu, Sterry, Woodman.

Results elsewhere mean that Newcastle begin proceedings in the bottom three. Optimism about leaving London with anything will be reasonably low - only Huddersfield, with 13, have fewer than the Toon's 15 Premier League goals this season.

Chelsea got an unexpected boost from West Ham earlier on. The Hammers' 1-0 defeat of Arsenal means that the fourth-placed Blues can pull six points ahead of the Gunners.

Yep, Rafa has never had the greatest relationship with the Stamford Bridge faithful, even when he was winning the Europa League for the Blues.

Today, the former Liverpool boss takes his Newcastle side to south London desperate for the crumbs from the Chelsea table.

Have you ever seen Love Actually? The scene at the start where they talk about the joy of seeing people reunited at airports.

This picture isn't in an airport, but it's the only picture from the film I have.

That's not the point, because I'm talking about reunions. You know, happy, joyous occasions.
