Aashay Knights: Newcastle are atrocious. These are not reserves playing, these are a host of new signings from this summer and they're all awful. I don't know whose fault it is and frankly at this point, I don't care. Everyone needs to come together and step up.

Ken, Newcastle: Wonder if Mike Ashley is sitting at home thinking "this is why I bought a football club". Disgrace.

Greg: Dave from Manchester it's AUGUST and 3 games in. Far too soon to look at Premiership mediocrity. Love to be Burnley.

Joao Carvalho has looked impressive today. He always wants to make things happen. He's probably not a huge goalscorer but he is a creator and looks like he will make a real impact for a Forest this season.

It's grim from Newcastle's point of view.

We are looking round wondering who is going to bring some inspiration. Maybe Jacob Murphy will bring some brightness and get them back into this game.

Forest though keep creating chances in this half.

Gil Dias is a real #player for Nottingham Forest.

He picks the ball up on the halfway line and the Newcastle defenders are petrified, retreating further and further towards their own goal.

Dias keeps coming, he can pass to Daryl Murphy, but elects to shoot over the crossbar.

Forest have a nice balance at the moment.

They have a sprinkling of experience and youth and it all looks positive for Aitor Karanka. Their style of play is good to watch and it's effective.

Lewis Sullivan: I know they're playing some reserves, but Newcastle look atrocious. 0 shots on target. No other Prem team would be this bad.

Andrew Neil: Newcastle have no-one on the right that can cross the ball with their right foot. One due to being a bit young and inexperienced and the other a left footed left winger who CANNOT play as a right winger. Need Yedlin and Murphy on asap

Dave from Manchester: Yes, it has been a massive wait for a trophy at Newcastle but the Carabao Cup is not a priority. Our efforts need to be in the Premier League. League Cup winners in the Championship is not the way to go. And as far as European qualification is concerned... Ask any Burnley fan what they think.

  20. 'More of the same'published at 21:09 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Newcastle

    Andy Reid
Ex-Nottingham Forest and Tottenham midfielder on 5 live

It's been more of the same this half. Newcastle still have no intensity to their play. Forest have been the opposite, producing some really intricate football and probably should be another goal up.
