Joel Ucko: I have to admit that I am really impressed with Javi’s attitudes to this competition. He’s put a very strong team out despite 11 changes, which is only pushing the competition in the team even more.

The more competition, the more consistency there is from the 11 chosen.

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Newcastle

    Andy Reid
Ex-Nottingham Forest and Tottenham midfielder on 5 live

Forest have been excellent. They've wanted to play out from the back as well as play off Daryl Murphy's knockdowns. The game plan has been very good so far and it's exactly what I expected from them.

They've not allowed Newcastle to get going.

  18. 'Forest confident'published at 20:03 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Newcastle

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Newcastle are going long a lot at the moment looking for Joselu. The ball has to be so precise for that to work though. It's the same as it was at Cardiff.

Forest look very confident - obviously going a goal up has only added to that. They're picking up the ball and drive at Newcastle to make things happen.

The Newcastle players look like they can't wait to get rid of it and need to improve massively.
