Lucas Moura looked bright when he came on but Harry Kane doesn't look like he was going to score.

At the minute, they are getting up the field, but there is no end product. They don't look like a side that are going to score many goals.

  2. 'The result was so cruel'published at 20:54 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    FT: Inter Milan 2-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BT Sport: "I'm happy with the performance – we dominated until the end – but of course the result was so cruel. For me it was our best performance since the beginning of the season.

"I'm happy with the performance but annoyed because I think the players and team deserved more."

"I believe that you can only fix that [Spurs' form] by working, and working harder than before. There's no other way. The last few games we're paying a lot and suffering the punishment for our mistakes. That is football – keep working and try to prepare the next game."

In case you missed it earlier, things did not go well for Spurs in Milan. An injury-time winner for Inter gave the home side a 2-1 win. Here is what Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino had to say afterwards...

  4. 'Sturridge gives you something different'published at 20:52 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Liverpool 2-1 PSG

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Liverpool have had to adapt their game tonight without Roberto Firmino because Daniel Sturridge is not as dynamic at closing down the opponent, but he is a finisher and he gives you something different.

His feet and his movement have been good and he has capped it off with a great goal.

For third game in a row Liverpool lead 2-0 and let a goal slip. Will they be third time unlucky?

Great first half. Liverpool in control for much of it, but PSG have made it interesting. More of this please.

Johnny: Cavani about a mile offside there and blatantly interfered with play. Horrendous decision.

Andrew: As a City supporter, I'm not overly fussed about this result, but...James Milner! Great career at Villa, great career at City and now another great career at Liverpool. Not many players can have done so much at three clubs - seems like he gets better!

Michael: Another blatant offside not given. Why no VAR?

  9. 'What a game'published at 20:45 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Liverpool 2-1 PSG

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

It doesn't come from one of the front three, it's the right back Thomas Meunier who has caused Liverpool problems all night. It's been brilliant to watch and what a game we have had so far.

The worst thing Liverpool can do now is get caught on the break and go into the break at 2-2.

  10. PSG snatch at a lifelinepublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

Liverpool had taken control here as they did in the first 45 minutes in the Champions League against Manchester City and Roma last season - but suddenly PSG have renewed hope.

It actually hasn't appeared to make that much difference to PSG's fans, who have not stopped singing or bouncing since the kick-off.

    Thomas Meunier

    Out of nowhere!

I was close to writing PSG's obituary but in a flash they are back in the game. A ball into the box from the left deflects off Andy Robertson's leg and to Thomas Meunier 15 yards out, who swivels and fires the ball into the corner.

Offside against Cavani in the box? Interfering with play? The officials clearly think not.

    Liverpool 2-0 PSG

Calm as you like. James Milner is a big game player and he has shown that over the last few years for Liverpool. Brilliant penalty.

PSG's heads have gone. They try to play the ball out from the back but spray it straight out of play.

Liverpool have rocked them. They're not used to this kind of pressure.

    Never in doubt!

What a start to the season James Milner is having. He steps up and calmly slots in his spot-kick.

    Liverpool in control.

That challenge by Bernat, though. What was he thinking?!

  15. PENALTYpublished at 35 mins

    Madness!

PSG's Juan Bernat has a moment to forget, tripping Wijnaldum in the box without any need. Ref points to the spot. Huge chance to take charge of this game.

  16. 'Areola has no chance'published at 20:37 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 PSG

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

What a period of pressure that was. Trent Alexander-Arnold whips the ball into the box but it's dealt with at the back post and you think it's over.

Andrew Robertson puts the ball back in and what a header from Daniel Sturridge. It is a bullet of a header and it is so close to Alphonse Areola, that he has no chance of saving it.

Oh, Liverpool get away with one. The corner is well-worked and finds Mbappe in space 15 yards out. He can't fully connect with his effort, though, and it flies over.

    Daniel Sturridge

    Lift off!

Daniel Sturridge is dancing, Anfield is rocking.

Andy Robertson's ball is a belter, right into the mixer to be met by the head of Sturridge and powered into the net. It is his first Champions League start for six years and he has capped it with a goal.

The man he replaced in the side, Roberto Firmino is grinning on the bench. And when he smiles you know it. Blinding.
