  1. More injury woes for Spurspublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

Inter Milan v Tottenham (17:55 BST)

We already knew of some of Spurs' injury news before tonight.

Dele Alli is still injured, as is goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Moussa Sissoko is also out but some might not regard that as a negative...

Inter Milan v Tottenham (17:55 BST)

And we already have Spurs' team news.

Harry Kane starts and looks to be playing up front on his own.

It looks like a 4-2-3-1 with Son, Eriksen and Lamela in behind.

    Full team to come...

  3. Tripper & Alderweireld left outpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

Inter Milan v Tottenham (17:55 BST)

Mauricio Pochettino maintains he made a "technical decision" to omit defenders Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier from his side tonight.

Both have played in Spurs' last four league games but have not made the trip to Milan.

"You cannot bring 25 players and can only play 11," Pochettino said.

"That is the reason. It was a technical decision. You can find it in the dictionary, maybe tactical also on the pitch - yes, it's tactical too."

Things may be going smoothy for Liverpool this season but it has been less serene for Tottenham.

They travel to Milan tonight having lost their last two league games.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has had to answer questions about striker Harry Kane's form and fitness and has shocked many by leaving two of his best defenders at home.

All doesn't seem right with Spurs at the moment.

  5. Heightened expectations at Liverpool?published at 16:37 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Liverpool v PSG (20:00 BST)

Liverpool did better than most expected in reaching the final last year, where they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.

After that run, their impressive summer recruitment and their 100% start to the Premier League season, there are heightened expectations around this Liverpool team.

They've been handed one of the toughest possible openers against PSG.

    Liverpool v PSG (20:00 BST)

It's not easy to pick the tie of the night but I think Liverpool v PSG just edges it.

Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, Neymar, Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane - it's all set up for an attacking display that dreams are made of.

This game also sees Jurgen Klopp come up against a fellow German manager in Thomas Tuchel, the man who replaced him at Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester City are the favourites to win the tournament - just.

The English sides have got a real chance.

So let's kick things off with a debate.

    It's nice and simple.

Who do you think will win the Champions League this season and why?

Will Pep guide City to glory? Will Liverpool go one better than last year? Can Messi inspire Barca again? Or will Ronaldo make the difference at Juve?

  9. Who are you backing?published at 16:18 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

It's all change in the Champions League this year and I'm not just talking about the kick-off times.

Real Madrid have dominated the competition in the last few years - winning three consecutive titles - but start their campaign tomorrow without the manager who guided them to those titles, Zinedine Zindane, and without their main man Cristiano Ronaldo.

That means there's a sense of openness to this year's tournament. There's a whole host of teams who have realistic hopes of being champions come May.

One thing is for certain with these new kick off times is it will be all-action.

The first games begin at 17:55 BST and should therefore finish around the time You'll Never Walk Alone is being sung at Anfield.

I wouldn't be moving from about 17:30 if I had the chance.

But the action doesn't stop there.

Spanish giants Barcelona also play tonight against PSV Eindhoven at 17:55 and Monaco host Atletico Madrid later at 20:00.

Former champions Red Star Belgrade are back in the Champions League proper for the first time since 1992 and play Carlo Ancelotti's Napoli.

Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Porto are also among the others in action.

There are eight matches tonight and eight tomorrow.

Two of the Premier League's four clubs begin their European campaigns this evening and we have new kick-off times to get our heads around.

From an English perspective, first up at 17:55 BST is Tottenham's trip to play an Italian heavyweight. They're in the San Siro and take on Inter Milan.

Then, at 20:00 BST, we have a huge match at Anfield. Last year's finalists Liverpool face French heavyweights Paris St-Germain - Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and all.

It should be quite a night.
