  1. Celtic and Saints Saturday signingspublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

The summer transfer window officially closed last night, but it hasn't stopped a couple more signings being announced this morning.

As expected, St Johnstone have snapped up Danny Swanson, with the midfielder joining the Saints for a third time after being released by Hibernian yesterday.

Meanwhile, Celtic have confirmed the addition of a credit card company, sorry, midfielder Armstrong Okoflex.

The 16-year-old released by Arsenal is confident enough to target a first-team debut before his next birthday.

But confirming the signing of a teenager who had been training with the Scottish champions since July is unlikely to appease fans angry at the sale of Moussa Dembele without a replacement striker being brought in.

Greenock Morton were left seething yesterday as manager Ray McKinnon left to join bottom-placed Falkirk after only three months in charge.

The move was particularly surprising considering Morton lie second in the table behind Ayr United on goal difference.

We'll have more on that soon ahead of their game in Glasgow against Partick Thistle.

Ayr themselves fought off interest from the Bairns in their manager, Ian McCall, as well as striker Lawrence Shankland, and last season's League One champions will hope to continue their momentum as they travel to face Queen of the South.

Moussa Dembele claims Celtic "gave in" to sanction his £19.7m late deadline day move to Olympique Lyonnais.

The striker's comments as he was introduced to the French media this morning have not gone down well with Celtic fans.

AgeOldCynic: He was no Henrik Larsson - that man was the embodiment of loyalty and an example to all professional footballers.

Tonyteehee: They gave in because they prefer having men playing for the club and not huffy children.

Kaiser77: In reality Celtic couldn't turn down that kind of offer but this contrived situation by Dembele shows player power at it's worst.

ChunkyMonkey: Dembele gone, move on. No one is bigger than the club.

  4. Levein pulls strings from homepublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

Heart of Midlothian v St Mirren (15:00)

With reigning champions Celtic not hosting Rangers in the Glasgow derby until tomorrow, Premiership leaders Hearts can hog the headlines as they entertain St Mirren.

They have to do so without Craig Levein in the dugout - the manager having been rushed to hospital on Monday after a health scare.

Assistant Austin MacPhee will be in charge but has stressed that Levein will still be picking the team - and passing on his instructions - from home.

  7. Who's that man?published at 14:00 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

If you see a strange guy lurking near your team's dressing-room this afternoon, it is probably a new signing.

It was transfer deadline day throughout Europe yesterday - apart from England, which had a Brexit-style split from the continental convention and had theirs three weeks ago - and there were plenty of moves and lots of controversy.

But it's back to the action on the pitch this afternoon, with five Scottish Premiership games, plus full cards in the three divisions below.

The matches all kick-off at 15:00, but stay with us for build-up, analysis and news from around the grounds throughout the afternoon.
