Pep's Barcelona were a different beast. For sure.

This lot are still decent though - favourites to lift the cup as it stands? Lionel Messi shoots, wide! Bit of a scuff if anything. Didn't know he could scuff them.

garett switzer: 10 years ago this might have been 80% Barcelona possession with Messi, Xavi and Iniesta playing a 90-minute game of rondo with Liverpool players. That sort of control and composure is long gone. Vidal and Roberto nowhere near the quality.

It has been non-stop since that very first whistle.

Busquets is lucky there, he leads with his elbow on Fabinho.

FOUR minutes added on at the end of the first half. Not conceding the key now for the hosts.

Sergio Busquets is booked for running into Fabinho.

I say this nearly every midweek after Christmas but the knockout stages of the Champions League are so, so good.

Barcelona are not changing, they are still looking for their goal and are pushing their full-backs forward just as Liverpool are.

Divock Origi does well on the right, Andy Robertson seems OK now and fires in a shot which hits the arms of Arturo Vidal - outside the area - and deflects away. The corner is cleared...

Andy Robertson is back on. What would it take to come off in the semi-final of the Champions League? Monty Python's Black Knight comes to mind.

Robertson ran into the back of Luis Suarez - no fault attached to the Uruguayan menace on this occasion. And he goes over to speak to the Scot as he gets treatment now.

Andy Robertson is struggling now, not flying up and down the wing at his usual pace. I didn't see him pick up a knock but he's definitely not moving right at all.

Not really his game that. Liverpool haven't missed him as much as we thought to be honest!

Coutinho doesn't like what he is having to do because the Liverpool full-backs are pushing on so much and Coutinho is having to defend in his own six-yard box.

I don't know where Steven Gerrard is tonight, but he needs to be invited into that Liverpool dressing room at half time and say whatever he said to his team mates at half time against that AC Milan team.

Huge ironic cheers as Arturo Vidal catches James Milner and this time Liverpool do get the decision.

Don't think there was much in that Lenglet/Mane challenge to be honest. This is a brilliantly competitve game, plenty going on on both sides of the law. Which is exactly what I want to see in a Champions League semi-final.

    Want it!

Well played James Milner, as he takes the ball off the toes of Lionel Messi, he looks to send Sadio Mane in behind and is that a foul?!

No says the ref. Clement Lenglet was strong, that could be controversial...

Barca attack and Virgil van Dijk clears well.

Henderson just overran it and got caught a little bit late on the knee. We said Liverpool would have chances and they have got one goal. It has been a cracking 32 minutes.

Jordan Henderson is up on his feet now. Might be OK to carry on after all. It was more of an impact injury than a twist of the knee. Play on!
