Lionel Messi (12) finishes as the outright leading Champions League goalscorer for the first time since 2011-12 (he was joint-leading scorer with Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2014-15).At least one of Messi or Ronaldo has been the leading CL goalscorer (outright or joint) in each of the last 12 campaigns, since Kaka topped the standings in 2006-07.

Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp speaking to BT Sport: "I am so happy for the boys all these people, and my family. They suffer for me, they deserve it more than anybody.
"Did you ever see a team like, this, fighting with no fuel in the tank? And we have a keeper who makes difficult things look easy.
"It is the best night of our professional lives.
"It took a while, it is important for our development and improvement, This little mark helps a lot, now we can carry on. The owners never put pressure on us.
"Normally 20 minutes after the game I am half drunk, but now I have only had water!"

A very proud Spurs fan. If you don't score you can't complain, possession or not. Liverpool were nervous but did enough defensively. I'm glad it wasn't decided by a dodgy penalty. Coys!!!
Owen in London
Congratulations to Liverpool. As a Spurs fan you have shown us that with a couple of excellent signings over the summer, we can be lifting the trophy next year.

Michael Owen speaking to BT Sport: "At the start of this season, Liverpool wanted the Premier League trophy.
"Manchester City are an astonishing team and Liverpool lost nothing in defeat.
"They're a great knockout team, they have the tools to go far in every competition. They're a top, top team now and they're here to stay."
Daniel Sturridge becomes the second English player to win the European Cup with two English clubs (also Chelsea 2012), following Jimmy Rimmer (Manchester United 1968, Aston Villa 1982).
Owen Hargreaves is the only other English player to have won the trophy with two different clubs - Bayern 2001 and Manchester United 2008.
I mean, if we're being honest about it, Sturridge didn't get on for a minute in either game but...

Former England defender Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport: "This team is going to be a feared team in Europe. Nobody wants to pull this team out the hat or play at Anfield.
"Now there's a fear, they've produced big results. This performance won't be talked about for years to come - we didn't play well against Chelsea in 2008 but I couldn't care less.
"These boys deserve it."
Jurgen Klopp dedicates the win to his family as he normally loses the last game of the season and it ruins his summer...
Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool
Glenn Hoddle speaking on BT Sport: "Jurgen Klopp has built this team, he's obviously been given good support. But it's the way Liverpool play - the tempo they play at, the system they play, it suits them.
"He knows what he wants from the players, they have clarity when they go out there.
Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool
Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen speaking on BT Sport: "Who cares whether they played well or poorly? This team is in an unbelievable cycle right now and they have to win trophies, so why not start with the big one?"
James Milner looks pretty emotional once again as Jurgen Klopp envelops him in one of his big bear hugs. Milner is a Champions League winner at the age of 33. He may have thought his chance had gone last year.
Sometimes spending big money on an individual item is worth it.

Romain Fernandez: It doesn’t matter how both teams played tonight. They both showed their quality in the past games and deserve credit and respect based on that. Congratulations, @LFC, external and well played @SpursOfficial, external.
Dave Payn: It wasn’t a great game but finals sometimes aren’t. Liverpool won’t care. Champions on merit. Beat Barca and Bayern on the way. Deal with it.
Aaron: Nobody in Reds cares about the quality of the game! CHAMPIONS ONCE MORE! Klopp haters gonna have a summer of pondering what new shade they wanna throw at the man. Legend is walking now!
DentalMental: To all the Liverpool fans right now. Many congratulations, the better team in a poor final. Enjoy your night, no sour grapes here. To us spurs fans, a night like this let's us dream big again, we go again and keep getting stronger.

I think Jurgen Klopp will enjoy the next few days, maybe have half a lager, but then he'll start to plan ahead. He'll start to look forward.
It's been a fantastic season for him, his staff, his players, the fans and it's ended with this magnificent night.
It was Rob Green on Wednesday, now Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher gets right in the heart of the celebrations.
That's mainly a third-choice keeper's role these days.

Liverpool
Liverpool striker Mo Salah speaking to BT Sport: "Everyone is happy now, I am glad to play the second final in a row and play 90 minutes finally. Everyone did his best today, no great individual performances today, all the team was unbelievable.
"We will see VAR next season, but I like it now!
"I have sacrificed a lot for my career, to come from a village to go to Cairo, and to be an Egyptian at this level is unbelievable for me."

Peter Holmes: For me as soon as Spurs started with Kane they lost the match. Why start someone who was previously injured when you had an in form Moura who was the main reason you reached the final?
Michael Scarn: Was a bit like the opposite of the Barcelona first leg. Spurs had all the chances and possession but weren't clinical. You just knew Liverpool would grab a second.
Scott Firth: The two finals this week was a platform for English football to show everyone what we are all about and they’ve left me so disappointed.
Jurgen Klopp leads Liverpool up - first to get his medal. He came so close last year and in 2013, finally he's got one.
