If you're just tuning in, Everton are 13 minutes + added time away from a good point at Anfield but it's not been the parked bus we've seen in seasons past. They've had a go and had some really good chances.

As have the hosts. Could easily have been 2-2 at the break, although the second half has been more cautious.

Will we get a late winner though?

He didn't look happy, Mo Salah. You're never happy coming off in a derby but you just think, he's done a job for his team in that centre-forward position, which isn't his favoured position, and when they switch to 4-3-3 they bring him off.

We've only had one save in the second half, and that was an easy one. It's lacked the tempo and drive of the first half. Fabinho gets his customary booking for a chop on Richarlison.

Mo Salah is being replaced, and he doesn't look best pleased about it. His 50th Premier League appearance ends with no goal, he stays on 39, and Daniel Sturridge is the man sent on to try and find a winner...

Clumsy from Andre Gomes on the edge of the area as he tussles with Mo Salah, he has his hands around the Egyptian's ear. Silly. Nothing given though.

It's looking like one goal might be enough for either side here tonight...

Xherdan Shaqiri has done ok but Liverpool are going to that 4-3-3 now. Will that be the change from Jurgen Klopp that wins Liverpool this game?

Liverpool send on Naby Keita for Xherdan Shaqiri, Liverpool will go more 4-3-3 now. We've not seen the best of Keita in the Premier League yet. Shaqiri should have scored in the first half.

That's brilliant from Ademola Lookman. The space opened up and he drove into it before laying it off to Bernard.

He's got his head in his hands because he knows how good a chance that was.

Andrew Robertson, brilliant! A colleyed cross right across the six-yard line but Everton's centre-halves stand up well to shut out Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. Into the fourth quarter of the game - will we get a goal?

That's better from Everton as Seamus Coleman gets forwards for the first time in a long time, well found on the underlap by Gylfi Sigurdsson, the Irishman pulls it back well and Andre Gomes is lining up a shot from 20 yards but Trent Alexander-Arnold sees the danger and cuts it out.

Ademola Lookman then beats a man and finds Bernard to shoot wide! Decent opening. That's got the away fans singing again...

Theo Walcott's been on the fringes. He's done ok but now Ademola Lookman's coming on and he's a real threat with his pace. He's quick, he's dynamic.

I tell you what, that was so tight, but the referee's assistant probably got it just right.

It's dangerous from Everton though, playing that high line, giving Mo Salah all that space to run into it.

In the last few minutes Everton have been squeezing up and if Liverpool can get that ball in to Salah they could be in.

Ademola Lookman, who may have had a few envious glances towards Jadon Sancho and co in the Bundesliga from the Everton bench so far this season, gets half an hour to impress on the big stage. He replaces Theo Walcott.

For once there's a ton of space for Sadio Mane to run into between the Everton lines but his pass through ends up only with an offside flag. Tight! Very tight. Everton are readying Ademola Lookman. Everton look a bit stretched.

That was good, patient build-up play by Liverpool and good centre-forward play by Mo Salah.

He'll keep on going, Sadio Mane. He plays a nice one-two with Mo Salah, gets it back inside the D and gets a shot off, Yerry Mina closed it down really well though and Mane can only curl one just wide. Close but no cigar.

No shots on target in the second half.

I think Liverpool will run Manchester City close this season but when City play Everton you're thinking 'how many will they score?'

Coming into this game, Liverpool should win, but Everton are making it difficult for them, and you just can't drop that many points behind City at this stage of the season because they're incredible.
