    Cardiff 0-0 Southampton

Pelting it down in Cardiff now. Mistakes could be on the cards...

  2. 'I don’t think it was a bad foul'published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 3-1 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don’t think it was a bad foul for the sending off. I saw this referee the other week in the Championship and he was average at best. The glimmer of hope for Fulham has gone in a matter of minutes.

    Arsenal 0-0 Huddersfield

Shkodran Mustafi's day is done. The Arsenal defender clutches his hamstring, he's pulled it.

Does that mean we're going to see Laurent Koscielny return? Not yet. Nacho Monreal, another returnee, comes on instead.

Monreal and Koscielny back in contention is timely with Mustafi and Sokratis both suspended next week after earning their fifth bookings of the season earlier...

  4. RED CARD - Andre-Frank Anguissapublished at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 3-1 Fulham

Just as Fulham get a ray of light, they put a bullet into their own foot. Andre-Frank Anguissa walks for a second yellow, booked again for a challenge on Marcus Rashford. He was booked in the first half for felling Jesse Lingard. No one arguments with the earlier one, but this is a bit soft. Then again, if you're Anguissa and you know you're on a yellow, don't do it...

  5. 'The referee has guessed'published at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 3-1 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Herrera gets the ball there. I think the referee has guessed a little bit and I do not think it is a penalty.

  6. Postpublished at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Cardiff 0-0 Southampton

Matt Targett is off-target. Sorry, I was contractually obliged to write that line.

Sants have a free-kick in a dangerous position but Targett blazes it over the bar from 25 yards.

    Felipe Anderson

What a goal. Felipe Anderson has been excellent and has ended this contest. Nice work by Pablo Zabaleta and Javier Hernandez eventually works the ball to Anderson, who curls into the top corner. Lovely stuff.

  9. PENALTY - Fulhampublished at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

Ander Herrera on Aboubakar Kamara. Did he get the ball? Either way, lifeline for Fulham...

    Arsenal 0-0 Huddersfield

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangggggg... heads wide unmarked at the far post. The Arsenal striker peels off to meet Granit Xhaka's inswinging corner, but can't test Jonas Lossl. Got to hit the target.

    Javier Hernandez

    It's been coming.

West Ham lead through Javier Hernandez (NOT Chicharito). Felipe Anderson's free-kick is parried by Wayne Hennessey and Hernandez, the master poacher, is quickest on the scene to stab in from very close range.

Nothing more than the Hammers deserve.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Arsenal 0-0 Huddersfield

Not nice to see. Town skipper Tommy Smith is down in a heap, needing a stretcher to take him off the field.

Every live text commentator's favourite player, Florent Hadergjonaj, replaces him.

Huddersfield continuing to frustrate Arsenal, David Wagner's final instructions to Hadergjonaj will have been 'more of the same, please'.

Close to a Burnley second. That man James Tarkowski again, rising highest at a corner, only to flick just beyond the far post.

  14. Postpublished at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Cardiff 0-0 Southampton

Funnily enough, Saints then create some openings from wide areas as Cardiff come under pressure.

Ooohhh! Penalty? Stuart Armstrong thinks so when he goes down in the Cardiff box. Ref Jon Moss, who has a great view, thinks Victor Camarasa's outstretched leg does not qualify as a foul.

I think Cardiff have got away with one there...

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 3-0 Fulham

The Manchester United Christmas party might have to be on a Nuffield ward. Chris Smalling is the latest to feel a twinge and is replaced by Marcos Rojo.

Wonder if Callum Paterson is a Beatles fan? The Cardiff striker has gone full Sgt Pepper's with the 'tasche.

It's Getting Better for the home side as they continue to dominate after the break, Paterson almost turning in Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's low cross.

  18. Postpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace

Palace have to find a way to hang on. They are the victim in a horror film, screaming for help as the maniac wields an axe to the front door. Claret shirts are all over their box. Somehow the ball rebounds away off a yellow shirt.

  19. Postpublished at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace

West Ham are feeling this now. Pablo Zabaleta, looking old enough to qualify for his own Christmas special, gets forward and pulls the trigger, but it's wide of the post.

    Burnley 1-0 Brighton

Burnley have made a bright start to the second half and have a free-kick on the edge of the Brighton half, much to the chagrin of the men in yellow. Robbie Brady...

    ...into the wall.
