Tumi: No Pogba but with Mata no problem. United need to have an abundance of creative players to complement their pace

Dan: All it took was an abject bottom of the league team to make United look half decent! Who knew?

  2. 'An excellent Manchester United goal'published at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 3-0 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don’t care how bad Fulham are defensively, that was an excellent Manchester United goal. They used the minimal amount of touches, one touch at times, and a good finish from Lukaku. It was so creative more than one player could have scored it in the end.

Referee Paul Tierney is producing more cards than Clintons at the moment. Yellows everywhere. Tommy Smith and Sokratis follow Danny Williams and Stephan Lichtsteiner into the book as things get heated.

  4. 'Fulham not at the races'published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 3-0 Fulham

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on Final Score

The Fulham players switched off there. They're not quite at the races today, they're failing to track those runs.

    Romelu Lukaku

Good lord, this is turning into a rout. So much so that Romelu Lukaku has scored one and Jose Mourinho is high-fiving everyone in Old Trafford. Fulham defence barely there again. United work down the left, waltzing to the byeline for Juan Mata to square and Lukaku to tap in.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Arsenal 0-0 Huddersfield

Over eagerness or lack of match practice? Either way, Huddersfield midfielder Danny Williams is seeing yellow after taking out Lucas Torreira with a wincer of a sliding tackle.

Stephan Lichtsteiner, a man not afraid to react and defend his teammates, also gets a yellow card for his response.

    James Tarkowski

0-0? Pah! James Tarkowski gives Burnley the lead after some football-pinball-skittles in the Brighton box. Twice the ball comes in from the right, twice it is headed around like a game of tennis. Eventually, Jack Cork steers it goalwards and Tarkowski chests it over the line, poacher-style.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 1-0 Fulham

A thunderbolt! Marcus Rashford from miles out, striking a free-kick from all of 35 yards. Sergio Rico scrambles to his right and paws it away. It would have burst the net. Rico is just off for reconstructive surgery on his right hand.

  9. 'Palace must produce a result'published at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    West Ham 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Manchester United striker on Final Score

The cameras have shown a concerned looking Roy Hodgson, despite his side leading...

I think Roy Hodgson knows where his team are at the moment. He knows if they continue to drop points and lose games they should be winning they'll be in trouble.

He knows he's got the players but they're just not getting the results at the minute.

    West Ham 0-1 Crystal Palace

West Ham just knocking a little louder. Robert Snodgrass' outswinging corner is met by a free Declan Rice, but his 50p head sends it over.

    Cardiff 0-0 Southampton

Apparently Rory Delap used to sew a towel inside his Stoke shirt (see 15:24 entry). Innovative. Aron Gunnarsson is giving the ball another wipe - which means one thing.

The Cardiff midfielder launches another long trow into the Saints box. this time keeper Alex McCarthy comes out to punch clear. All that practice has paid off so far.

    Burnley 0-0 Brighton

Good save, Mat Ryan. The best chance of the game so far, Chris Wood finding himself inside the Brighton six-yard box, albeit it a tight angle. Ryan closes the gap and smothers the ball. It might be that this one is warming up.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Cardiff 0-0 Southampton

Let off for Cardiff. Neil Etheridge thinks he's having a Jordan Pickford moment as a Saints corner loops up and bounces off the top of the Cardiff bar. The hosts can't hack clear and the ball falls to Mario Lemina.... who scoops a difficult volley over the bar.

  14. Postpublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 2-0 Fulham

Fulham have actually had their best spell since conceding the second. Seeing plenty of the ball in the United half, the Cottagers are just lacking some cohesion in the final third.

  15. Postpublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    West Ham 0-1 Crystal Palace

West Ham, trying to get back into this one, have had a lot of the ball but not done a great deal with it. Palace are happy to sit deep and hit on the break. This might be a game of attack versus defence for the rest of the afternoon.

    Arsenal 0-0 Huddersfield

Arsenal are starting to open up Huddersfield like a can of beans. Another chance comes their way within minutes, Alexandre Lacazette threatening to make the net bulge... instead finding Row M.

  17. 'Matic has the freedom of Old Trafford'published at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Man Utd 2-0 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Marcus Rashford got into the penalty area, with a great pass into Juan Mata who just passes into the net. Very good goal from United but for Fulham it is two passes and they concede a goal.

Nemanja Matic has the freedom of Old Trafford, Fulham are letting him have it and he is creating everything at the moment.

And Matic's pass map shows how he has been able to dictate play from all over the field.

    Arsenal 0-0 Huddersfield

For those of you desperately wanting a big score from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (sorry, fantasy football chat again...), there is not too much to say.

The Arsenal forward has barely had touch. Hang on... here's his chance! Granit Xhaka sends in a low cross which Aubameyang stretches to meet. Jonas Lossl dives the wrong way, the ball is prodded the wrong way.

  19. goal

GOAL - Man Utd 2-0 Fulhampublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Juan Mata

Miles, miles too easy. Fulham have been sliced open like a Christmas turkey. Marcus Rashford down the left, Juan Mata screaming for it as he somehow finds an acre of space on the Old Trafford turf. Ball pulled back, Mata strokes home from about 18 yards. That might already be game over.

    Man Utd 1-0 Fulham

United are all over Fulham here. The white shirts are pinned back to their own 18-yard line. The home fans sense it, too. The isolated Aleksandar Mitrovic may as well not be on the pitch.
