    Man Utd 0-0 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a long time since United have won in the Premier League.

I can already see a lot of empty seats, and it is nothing like the same atmosphere it has had in the past – they have lost that feeling of invincibility and they need to regain that. It might be the weather or the Christmas shopping, but it’s not particularly noisy.

    West Ham 0-0 Crystal Palace

You've got this as a home win on your acca, haven't you? Palace, in yellow, have actually started nicely. Lucas Perez, in the West Ham side for injured Marko Arnautovic, is hobbling after a knock to his left ankle.

  3. 'Palace problems'published at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    West Ham 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on Final Score

The midweek result is a major problem - that was a bad result for Palace. They haven't sorted out their problems. They've been playing very central and there are are a lot of issues there for Roy Hodgson.

Like this. A lot. TWO Arsenal players take the kick off. Very traditional.

Seconds in and Laurent Depoitre is already causing a nuisance in the Gunners box. Shkodran Mustafi is dispossessed but then recovers.

  5. Postpublished at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Burnley 0-0 Brighton

It is absolutely hosing it down at Turf Moor. Not just raining, but like being in the shower, outdoors. The sort of water than annoys a fish.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

After a slight delay at Arsenal, all five of our Premier League matches are rolling. Goals please.

Poodle-haired Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi (I've nicked that description from one of the tabloids) has NOT had his hair cut.

They make them hard in Yorkshire. The camera is still panning over the away supporters at the Emirates and picks out one lad wearing just his short-sleeved replica shirt. Maybe he's wearing a beer jacket...

Not many players being that brave as they walk out onto the Premier League pitches...

  10. Can Hasenhuttl turn it around?published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Cardiff v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on Final Score

In his first press conference, Ralph Hasenhuttl gave an open invitation for the Southampton players to get on board. He told them he'll push them as hard as they will go and it's up to them to get on board.

The question is, has he got the time to sacrifice a few bad results to get the style right?

  12. 'Dyche still right for Burnley'published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Burnley v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Manchester United striker on Final Score

It's a very tough task. They're not doing what they were doing last year. I just think Sean Dyche is still the right man but they've just taken their foot off the gas and when you do that in the Premier League you concede.

Keep things simple, do the basics right.

A couple of cracking Christmas jumpers on show in the Huddersfield end at the Emirates. Plus a few blue and white Santa hats. Thoughts on fans wearing them at the football? Is there any place for them? Not for me...

Fi3ld: Big news again Pogba being dropped, when really it shouldn't be. Hasn't been playing well enough to play. He thinks he's bigger than United. Let's hope he acts like a professional and digs in shows his worth.... 96mil and all that.

Abdul: I think United do not know how to play Pogba, they let him go first time and he became a top class player, it is happening again

  15. 'Pressures of the job'published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

Man Utd v Fulham (15:00 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Manchester United striker on Final Score

Jose Mourinho needs to try and enjoy it more, and then maybe the players will be able to.

Anybody that comes in to manage at Man United, it's the biggest job in the world and there's no pressure like it - whether you're a player or a manager. You have to be able to live with that pressure.

  16. O'Neill, Benitez... Ranieri?published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

Man Utd v Fulham (15:00 GMT)

Fulham haven’t won away in the Premier League for 10 games, losing their last six in a row, which is their worst run for 12 years.

However, new boss Claudio Ranieri could become only the third manager to win a Premier League away game at Old Trafford with two different clubs today, emulating Martin O'Neill and Rafa Benitez.

  18. 'West Ham can now find consistency'published at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

West Ham v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Scott
    Match of the Day commentator

It's a startling statistic that West Ham's win over Cardiff gave them back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time in almost two years. After a slow start to the season, Manuel Pellegrini's side now look capable of delivering some long-awaited consistency.

While Marko Arnautovic's injury is a blow, Pellegrini has the luxury of goals coming from a number of other sources - in contrast, finding the net is Palace's major issue, with their failure to threaten 10-man Brighton the latest worrying display in attack.

While you can look at the vast number of chances they created against Burnley as a positive, their conversion rate both that afternoon and across the season as a whole must be a big concern for Roy Hodgson.

  19. 'Anything other than United win seems improbable'published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

Man Utd v Fulham (15:00 GMT)

    Alistair Mann
    MOTD commentator

Though it's Fulham who are at the bottom, there are many more questions being posed about Manchester United.

Without a win in four and some 18 points behind their city rivals at the top, a much improved display against Arsenal in midweek is still someway off silencing their many critics.

Considering Fulham's appalling away record and equally depressing recent run of results at Old Trafford, anything other than a United win this weekend seems improbable. However, with four points in three games since Claudio Ranieri's arrival, the Cottagers won't have written off their chances.

With low expectations and pivotal games against West Ham, Newcastle, Wolves and Huddersfield to end December, Fulham will be viewing this game as a free hit.

  20. 'Hasenhuttl enthusing fans already'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    Cardiff v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Chris Wise
    Match of the Day commentator

New Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl offered an early glimpse of his engaging personality at his unveiling this week.

Dubbed the 'Klopp of the Alps', the Austrian set about charming the media with analogies involving washing machines, and even one about the Titanic, which set sail from the city over 100 years ago.

His fresh approach is already enthusing Saints fans, but the proof will be provided in the crucial weeks ahead.

Many would have predicted Cardiff, rather than Southampton, would occupy a spot in the bottom three at the start of December but, typically, Neil Warnock's side are fighting tough.

The bulk of their points have come at home, where they've clearly found their feet.
