Hibernian manager Neil Lennon cut a frustrated figure at Fir Park as his side's winless run in the league stretched to five games.

"I didn’t think we defended well at all," he tells BBC Sportsound. "We missed easy chances. We’ve only got ourselves to blame. We have to turn that domination we had in the second half into goals. It’s an area we need to improve at.

" We need to get back to winning ways. At the minute we’re nowhere near the team we were last year. Players need to play more consistently. I can't hang my hat on any of them.

Hamilton manager Martin Canning: "We hit the bar early in the game and the way things are going for us just now we're not able to get that first goal.

"We seem to gift teams opportunities and we've got to do better than we did tonight."

Livingston manager Gary Holt: "It looked like a nil-nil and if we could have had a wee bit of composure, a wee bit more bravery in the final third, I felt that we were in the ascendancy in the game.

"It's disappointing that someone gets a free header in your box and no one's tracking a runner and it's in your net and the game's done."

Hearts manager Craig Levein: "We didn't play well enough, anywhere near well enough, particularly in the first half.

"I ended up taking David Vanacek off because I felt he just looked as if he wasn't at the races. Conor Shaughnessy slips and he's the last man and gifts them a goal so that just pretty much sums up the day.

"We didn't show enough composure in the last third of the field. We had a enough opportunities to win the game."

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson on BBC Radio Scotland: "We had energy, a lot of good play, and really pleasing aspects.

"You look at the age of our squad – two midfielders under 20 in Jake Hastie and David Turnbull, we’ve got a real bright future. Sometimes the young boys are up and down, it’s something we have to persevere with and keep being brave with."

More bad news for Hibs fans, with Ryan Porteous, who is just back from a festive injury lay-off, was forced off in the first half of tonight's defeat after his knee "popped out".

"We don’t know how bad it’s going to be," Hibs head coach Neil Lennon added on BBC Radio Scotland.

"We’ve just had him back, I wanted him in the team because he’s been superb this season. It’s another injury we could’ve done without.

"We’ve lost him and Efe Ambrose has left – it’s an area I don’t really want to delve into because we’re looking at the top end of the pitch. We haven’t really got the full extent of the injury yet."

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is a frustrated man after that defeat in Ayrshire. His side have won just four of their 11 away games in the league.

"I think we’ve created enough to win the game," he tells BT Sport. "Kilmarnock haven’t put any combinations together or cut us open or looked like a team that were worrying us really. We looked like we were the team that were going to create the better opportunities. So that was a positive.

"But you can’t win football matches if you give silly gifts away. A square ball in the second half, on this type of pitch is something we asked the players to avoid at all costs. We’ve been done for them to go in front. It’s incredible how you can have so much control and be playing so well and playing with confidence and swagger and then completely lose your way for such a long part of the game from the first mistake."

"The players need to learn that even if you’re playing well, you get yourself in front. You can’t get over confident. You’ve got to continue to keep doing the right things and respect your opponents.

"This makes it a lot more difficult for us. The table won’t look nice tonight. We’ll get some criticism and rightly so. We’ve had an awful lot of praise three weeks ago (for the win against Celtic) and rightly so but tonight we weren’t at it all over the pitch. We have to suck that criticism up."

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes: "Very professional performance, some good individual performances.

"Clean sheet and three goals, we would've taken that before the game.

"The performance was more what I would expect from the team. I've got to be happy with the night's work. Tonight was pleasing to get the job done."

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke hails "a great response" from his side after coming from behind to beat Rangers at Rugby Park.

"We defended well when we had to defend," he tells BBC Scotland. "We put in a good shift and showed a little bit of quality in the finishes as well."

Jordan Jones, who is off to Ibrox in the summer, drilled in the winning goal on a night of high drama.

"I know what Jordan is like," explains Clarke. " I work with him day in, day out. I know he is committed to Kilmarnock until the end of this season. Jordan has got himself a fantastic move but that's for next season.

"Our next ambition is to go to Aberdeen on Saturday, another tough game. I've got to freshen the boys up and get them ready to go again.

"The squad is a little bit light, so if we can do something, we'll do that."

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is pleased his side managed to fashion a goal out of nothing: "We produced the only real bit of quality in the game. To not play as well as we can and win, at this stage of the season is important. It's a vital win."

On moving above Hearts into fifth Wright said: "After last season I don't think many people would have thought that was possible. We want to get to 40 points as soon as possible. That's a good platform to kick on."

Dundee manager Jim McIntyre: "I thought we deserved it. I thought we played ever so well. We scored a couple of great goals.

"The players deserve a lot of credit because it's been a hard season and it's still going to be a hard season.

"To a man, they stood up to Hearts."

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is satisfied with "a very good performance" against St Mirren.

He describes two-goal Oliver Burke as a "big talent, who needs guiding".

"He's here to help us and he's here to develop as a player," he said of the on-loan West Brom forward.

"He's fitted in very well and he's still building relationships with his new team-mates."

Having already confirmed the club's interest in Ukrainian winger Maryan Shved, Rodgers adds: "We're always opened minded to bring in quality players. if we can do that, that's what we'll do."

Dundee win at Tynecastle for the first time since September 2012 and more importantly get off the bottom of the table. They deserved it. Hearts had chances but Dundee had their fair amount of chances too, which has given them an opportunity to stay in this league.

A result that was never in doubt.

Celtic cruised this and once they opened the scoring through Oliver Burke there was no looking back.

Brendan Rodgers must be thrilled at the attacking options he now has with Timothy Weah also making an impact with another goal off the bench with at least one new face still to be integrated in Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

They’ve edged a point clear at the top and three clear of Rangers with a game in hand. That will be a significant boost given their defeat at Ibrox last month.

St Mirren drop to the bottom of the table and while it is harsh to judge them here, there was not much to suggest things are coming together. They were chasing shadows for the most part.

What were all the Motherwell fans worrying about!? In the space of 90 minutes an excellent win against Hibs, a wave of optimism seems to have replaced the tension and panic created by the weekend’s Scottish Cup exit.

Stephen Robinson’s men have nothing to worry about if they can produce performances like this on a regular basis. Jake Hastie, David Turnbull and Gboly Ariyibi were fantastic.
