  1. May rules himself out Hibs' running - againpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2019

    FT: St Mirren 1-3 Hibernian

Caretaker Hibs head coach Eddie May tells BBC Scotland: "I thought S Mirren were better than us in the first half, more of a goal threat, we couldn't get any rhythm.

"Our better players performed in the second half. I thought in the second half we thoroughly deserved our win.

"I think the players have always had performances in them, sometimes they've not delivered. They certainly turned up today."

May ruled himself out of taking on the job permanently prior to kick off and explains that he did not enjoy his brief time as Falkirk boss.

He said: "Eddie May is not a football manager and Eddie May will keep his fingers crossed something happens soon."

    Quote Message

There's little turning points in football that change a game completely. St Mirren had an opportunity to go two up. The injury to Daryl Horgan actually turned out to be an advantage to Hibs because they brought on Oli Shaw, changed the system, and that turned their game around.

  3. Rangers have lost 'important ground' - Gerrardpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2019

    Livingston v Rangers (16:00)

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard on RangersTV: "The message to the team is that you cannot perform for 22 minutes, not at elite level. You've got to make sure your performance is there for the 90 minutes.

"I expect a reaction individually and collectively from the team. We've lost ground, important ground, which is disappointing because we've worked ever so hard to put ourselves in a good position and now we need a reaction.

"We need a positive performance at Livingston and we need to go there and try and take maximum points."

  4. Can lightning strike twice at Livingston?published at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2019

    Livingston v Rangers (16:00)

Rangers were stunned by Livingston on their last visit to West Lothian, a Dolly Menga goal delivering three points for the hosts.

The top three on that Sunday, seven games into the season? Hearts, Hibs and Livi... That seems like a long time ago now.

Steven Gerrard's men got their revenge at Ibrox in November, with Daniel Candeias, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield on target.

  5. Defoe & Davis drop to Rangers' benchpublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2019

    Livingston v Rangers (16:00)

The big news for Rangers is that high-profile January signings Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis are both dropped after the 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock in midweek.

They are two of four changes, with Gareth McAuley and Andy Halliday also making way as Ross McCrorie, Daniel Candeias, Borna Barisic and Nikola Katic come in. Kyle Lafferty is out of the squad altogether.

Livingston make just two changes, one of them forced with Ryan Hardie unable to play against his parent club. Craig Sibbald also drops to the bench, with striker Dolly Menga making an unexpected comeback from injury and Keaghan Jacobs recalled in midfield.

  6. Timely lift for Hibeespublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2019

    FT: St Mirren 1-3 Hibernian

That victory was just the tonic for Hibs after a hard couple of days.

The Neil Lennon story will rumble on but fans will be feeling a bit better after that second-half display.

Will Eddie May and Grant Murray still be in charge when they take on Aberdeen next weekend?

  8. Buddies left to rue McAllister misspublished at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2019

    FT: St Mirren 1-3 Hibernian

Hibs were much improved after the break but there was a huge turning point when Kyle McAllister missed a golden chance for the hosts.

Goalkeeper Ofir Marciano was lying on the ground outside his box when the Buddies midfielder wanted to turn on to his stronger foot and fluffed his shot.

About 40 seconds later, Hibs were level.

  9. FULL-TIME St Mirren 1-3 Hibernianpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2019

That's it. Hibs come from behind to win for the first time this season and end a run of five winless games in the league.

Oli Shaw, who made a big impact as a second-half sub, grabbed the equaliser, with Darren McGregor and Stevie Mallan adding goals against their former team.

    Quote Message

Oli Shaw has had a big impact since coming on. He does the unselfish thing, sees Stevie Mallan, lays it to the edge of the box, and maybe the goalkeeper could have done a bit better with it. That's game over from Hibs point of view.

Sloppy from Ethan Erhahon as the St Mirren teenager gifts the ball to David Gray. The Hibs skipper skelps a great long, diagonal pass for Oli Shaw to chase. The striker cuts in from the left and lays it off to Stevie Mallan, who steers a first-time shot home from the edge of the box.
