  1. CLOSE!published at 8 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Erin Cuthbert is such an exciting player. She drives towards Steph Houghton but is forced backwards by the England captain.

It comes out to Caroline Weir, whose strike from long-range is blocked. England's Beth Mead then goes straight up the other end but her cut-back from the left just misses Ellen White... not by much though!

Currently at Gretna Green travelling from Scotland to England. I'm supporting England, my wife Scotland and our 12 week old baby keeping the peace. Let's hope when we get home in around 8 hours we'll still be talking to each other!

Ellen White and Fran Kirby link-up on the edge of the Scotland box but Caroline Weir sticks out a leg and stops the Chelsea striker from going any further.

This is all a bit frantic at the moment! (My typing and the game!)

But Lucy Bronze quickly changes that as she gets forward down the right. An inviting cross has to be headed over the backline by Sophie Howard.

Glasgow City coach Scott Booth: "It's interesting to see Lisa Evans on the left and Claire Emslie on the right. Before the game we maybe thought it'd be the other way round."

A very positive start from Scotland. The first time Erin Cuthbert gets the ball she turns, she makes a positive run forward. We need to see more of that.

Sloppy from Alex Greenwood, who has come into the England side for Demi Stokes at left-back today, as she gets tackled by Arsenal's Kim Little.

England are struggling to settle here. A good start from Scotland.

  8. 'Tension in Nice'published at 17:03 British Summer Time 9 June 2019

    England 0-0 Scotland

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

You can feel the tension inside the ground. Scotland have tried to go long beyond both full-backs a couple of times and it's been positive start but the game has not really settled down yet.

    England 0-0 Scotland

Erin Cuthbert sprints down the right and there's a huge roar from the Scottish fans in the crowd. Beth Mead can't stop the cross but Millie Bright is there to hook it out for a throw-in.

Scotland still have possession in England's half but Claire Emslie can't quite pounce on a through ball.

Caroline Weir, who is always so good on the ball, shields off challenges from Jill Scott and Nikita Parris and wins a free-kick.

Scotland go long, looking for Lisa Evans, but Lucy Bronze is there to halt any attack.

  19. 'How will they cope?'published at 16:55 British Summer Time 9 June 2019

    England v Scotland (17:00 BST)

    BBC One

Former Scotland goalkeeper Gemma Fay on BBC: "Nicola Docherty is starting at left-back for Scotland and didn't play in any of the qualifying games. She came in when Emma Mitchell got injured, started against the US in November and has since been an ever-present in the squad so she's earned the right to start.

"You've then got Claire Emslie, who loves to do a step-over, get to the byeline or come inside on the right, but you're up against Lucy Bronze and Nikita Parris.

"They're both attack-minded players so how are they going to cope with that in defence?"
