Gordon: I'm watching both games tonight and Scotland's performance is much better than England's.
Tubbychef: England have played well in all their matches, until they score. Then they just seem to switch off & get sloppy. Can't do this against the better teams.
Japan 0-1 England
Hina Sugita has looked sharp for Japan tonight. She sees a gap in England's defence and feeds an excellent ball through to substitute Yuika Sugasawa.
Thankfully for Karen Bardsley, the Japanese striker's touch is poor and it rolls into the keeper's hands.

We are up in the Gods here, about six foot from the roof so have a decent position to see what England are up against. They seem to have a real problem playing out from the back at times, which is not helped by the front four not offering enough movement.
Maybe Karen Carney can help matters? She'll definitely offer some extra experience and guile.

How do you think Georgia Stanway got on? You can rate her performance out of 10 using our Player Rater, here.

Karen Carney comes on to win her 143rd cap in her fourth World Cup. Remarkable numbers from the Chelsea captain.
Japan 0-1 England
Karen Carney sprints onto the pitch, shouting instructions and words of encouragement to her teammates.
She's clapping and trying to egg them on. She has seen their tempo and level drop in this half and wants more.
Japan 0-1 England
Here's Karen Carney. She's replacing Georgia Stanway in midfield. The youngster has had an excellent game but this is the experience England need.

Alan Guest: England have been too defensive in this half, but probably doing enough. However I'd still like to see an English second goal.
Andy Davis: I’m astounded Japan still haven’t played Rumi Utsugi big mistake in my opinion.
Japan 0-1 England
Jill Scott gets caught on her heels in midfield and Japan quickly break. It falls to Yuika Sugasawa on the edge of the box but her strike lacks power and it's comfortably held by Karen Bardsley.

I think Keira Walsh did well although at times she was caught in possession.
Japan 0-1 England
Jade Moore is on for England. She replaces Keira Walsh, who has struggled a little in midfield.
Japan 0-1 England
The ball bounces off the referee so in the new rule, it's dropped back at the feet of the player who had possession last.
So it's back with Japan in midfield.

I'd like to see Ellen White staying higher up the field so she can be an outlet for England.
She keeps dropping deep to help out but England need her up top.
Scotland are winning 3-0! They are on fire! It's Erin Cuthbert with the goal this time.

Jack: That Steph Houghton tackle had Bobby Moore written all over it.
Japan 0-1 England
It's sloppy again from England. Jill Scott gives the ball straight back to Japan and Georgia Stanway is lucky not to give away a free-kick with a late, sliding tackle.

With 25 minutes left, England just need to see this game out now.
We might see the experienced head of Karen Carney come on just to calm things down. She's already done that to great effect in this tournament.

Dan McKenzie: Please can someone buy Phil Neville some suncream? Come on England!

It was a perfectly timed tackle by Steph Houghton. Yuika Sugasawa gets in behind with a lovely first touch but Houghton was there with an inch-perfect challenge.
