    Steven Naismith

Fantastic persistence and delicacy from Steven Naismith.

Uche Ikpeazu thunders up the left and sends a low ball in to his colleague seven yards out.

Naismith tries to swipe it home first-time but kicks only fresh air. The bouncing ball is still there for him, and with his other foot, he arcs a beautiful clipped shot over Mark Gillespie and into the net.

    Fantastic finish. Hearts level.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 33 mins

    Motherwell 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

Charles Dunne makes an important block on Sean Clare's fizzing shot.

Moments later, a decent stop from Mark Gillespie denies Oliver Bozanic from distance.

Then Dunne is at it again, getting himself in the way of Jake Mulraney's driven effort inside the home box. That may well have been a goal-saving intervention.

  6. Living the dream...published at 32 mins

    Motherwell 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

Jake Hastie's goal celebration is fast becoming familiar. Five in six games for the teenager.

  7. CLOSE!published at 30 mins

    Motherwell 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

Motherwell fly up the other end and Jake Hastie comes close to a double.

David Turnbull picks out his young team-mate's diagonal run, and from a tight angle, Hastie rifles into the midriff of Colin Doyle.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 29 mins

    Motherwell 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

    Another penalty shout for Hearts.

Uche Ikpeazu backs in to Curtis Main on the edge of the box, then hits the deck.

Both players had a grip on each other's shirts and Ikpeazu went down rather easily for a chap of his strength.

Craig Levein is asking Steven Naismith to push forward a little more, play up beside Ikpeazu, with Sean Clare dropping a little deeper into that midfield, where at the moment Hearts are being outnumbered.

  11. Ariyibi on the rampagepublished at 26 mins

    Motherwell 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

Gboly Ariyibi gets a chance to take on John Souttar. The American youth international is too quick for Souttar, but his cross is deflected behind off Curtis Main.

Young David Turnbull is one of the reasons Motherwell have clicked. He's such a good player. He's brought a composure, confidence, a willingness to get the foot on the ball, slow the game down and speed it up when needed. He's been fantastic.

  13. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    Motherwell 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

Curtis Main makes a nuisance of himself in behind the Hearts defence again.

The big striker latches on to Richard Tait's long ball and wins a corner from Christophe Berra.

Charles Dunne directs the delivery towards goal but Sean Clare gets it away.

That Hastie hammer-blow has opened the game right up.

Ikpeazu powers his way into the home box but clips his side-foot effort straight at Mark Gillespie.

Then Main bursts free up the other end and bobbles a shot narrowly wide.

You cannot let Jake Hastie cut inside on his left foot - you have to show him the outside. He cuts in and drives one past Doyle - absolutely no chance for the Hearts goalkeeper.

    Jake Hastie

    Guess who?

Another absolute belter from young Jake Hastie - his fifth goal in six games.

The 19-year-old latches on to a diagonal up the right flank after a clever Curtis Main flick. Hastie takes on Christophe Berra, cuts inside, and lashes home with his left foot from inside the box.

    Brilliant stuff.

The advantage of playing a winger like Jake Mulraney at wing back is that when they get into the offensive areas, they know what to do with the ball

Excellent football from Hearts following that free-kick.

Clare and Mulraney link up neatly down the left flank. The latter scampers clear and fires a cross in at the near post.

Ikpeazu is thundering across to meet it but was never likely to squeeze it home from a tight angle under pressure from Gorrin.

    Motherwell 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

A sore one for Hearts play-maker Steven Naismith.

He careered into Alex Gorrin, who was bringing the ball under control, and copped a bang to the forehead.

It looked more like Naismith had run into Gorrin's hand than been struck.
