Some first touch from Ikpeazu, then the acrobatics. Really good play down the left, but a little bit too easy for Hearts - Jake Hastie gets done with the one-two.

  2. CLOSE!published at 8 mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

Well now - that would have been quite an opener.

Uche Ikpeazu wrangles a Mulraney cross under control, tees himself up for an overhead kick, but fires a couple of yards wide.

Not bad at all from the big fella...

It's just a collision, a coming-together. Allan Campbell hasn't seen Jake Mulraney. The decision is right.

  5. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 4 mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

Hearts have an early corner after Christophe Berra's long ball is looped behind by Tom Aldred.

It's taken short, and Allan Campbell and Jake Mulraney run headlong into each other.

Mulraney is poleaxed but it was a completely accidental collision. No penalty.

It's a really difficult one to call. Different set-ups. That midfield area will be so important - you would think Motherwell's tight three of Turnbull, Campbell and Gorrin will have the advantage but Naismith will be asked to drop in. Motherwell are a really good side - they've added excitement to the wider positions, they are playing more football.

  11. Shot-shy Hearts? Don't believe itpublished at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

Motherwell v Heart of Midlothian (12:15)

Craig Levein’s Hearts side are perhaps best known for their defensive aptitude, but this season the Tynecastle side have turned that preconception on its head.

With 323 shots so far this season, Hearts are third only to Celtic and Rangers when it comes to shots per game – averaging around 12 per match.

  12. Gorrin - interception kingpublished at 12:06 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

Motherwell v Heart of Midlothian (12:15)

It's been well established that Alex Gorrin is - ahem - a key player for Motherwell.

Here's a wee stat for you, courtesy of our resident numbers guru Stefan Bienkowski:

The Spanish midfielder averages 9.18 interceptions per game - more than any other player in the Premiership, and 1.28 better than his nearest rival and team-mate, Carl McHugh.

  13. Hearts will miss 'rock' Smith - Leveinpublished at 12:05 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

Motherwell v Heart of Midlothian (12:15)

Hearts manager Craig Levein on BBC Radio Scotland: "Demi Mitchell was just coming back into the team Michael Smith has been a rock all season and we will miss them both.

"It’s unfortunate but we are used to having to deal with these sort of situations. We’ve got John Souttar back and Christophe Berra back, we are probably now in a normal injury situation rather than a difficult period we had previously.

“They’ve changed the way they play, they’ve added real energy and enthusiasm on the sides and pace, the young boy Hastie has brought them something different.

"They’ve changed the shape - not going three at the back, they are going with four now - they are more of a threat now, so all credit to Stephen Robinson and his players.”

  14. 'No time like the present' for Robinsonpublished at 12:01 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

Motherwell v Heart of Midlothian (12:15)

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson on BBC Radio Scotland: "We’ve been able to add width to the team in January. It was a little bit more direct and it was a scrap and a fight at times.

"We’ve got that little bit of invention in the final third now. The young boys have come in and given a real freshness and energy to the team.

"I’ve a lot of admiration for Hearts, I get to watch them quite a lot and they’ve got that mix of physicality with Uche Ikpeazu upfront and real inventiveness with Steven Naismith, Sean Clare, Steven Maclean.

"They’re a hard team to play against – we haven’t beaten them this year, we’re well aware of that, so there’s no time like the present."

  15. Don't be Hastiepublished at 11:54 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

Motherwell v Heart of Midlothian (12:15)

Jake Hastie has made a phenomenal impact since breaking into the Motherwell team in January.

The 19-year-old forward is quick, powerful and impressively muscular for a man so young.

He's scored four goals and created one in just five games and says Gareth Bale is his inspiration.

"There's stuff he does that I try and replicate - especially his explosive runs. When I pick up the ball, I'll try and go to beat two or three players like he does," Hastie told BBC Scotland.

"I always do it then I'll watch him to see how I can work on my game and bring in certain aspects of his. I want to try and make something happen like he does."

  16. Hearts change four with stricken full-backspublished at 11:45 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

Motherwell v Heart of Midlothian (12:15)

Hearts eased past Auchinleck Talbot in last weekend's Scottish Cup tie, but the win came at a cost - wide men Michael Smith and Demetri Mitchell picked up injuries that will keep them out for a while.

Those two are replaced by Marcus Godinho and Jake Mulraney today, with Craig Levein also bringing Conor Shaughnessy into defence, sacrificing striker Steven Maclean.

In midfield, Oliver Bozanic starts ahead of Olly Lee.

Motherwell v Heart of Midlothian (12:15)

If it ain't broke, etc etc...

For the fifth game in a row, Motherwell boss Robinson names the same starting XI.

And with his team in such excellent form, why would he change it?

Some cracking young players in that XI - Allan Campbell, 20, and teenage duo David Turnbull and Jake Hastie are all red-hot just now.

Watch out too for Gboly Ariyibi, who has been a dynamic January recruit on the wing.
