Idowu Adebisi: Arsenal going out there to make a statement today...... Everton, make way for da Gunners.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery was quizzed about his forward options this week and said strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are among some of the finest he has worked with.

"Here I have Aubameyang and 'Laca'. It's perfect. Each striker has his qualities and characteristics but one is similar. They are strikers and score a lot of goals," said the former Paris St-Germain, Sevilla and Valencia coach.

"I am very happy with them. They are scoring, they are playing both (roles). In training, I said to them, 'When I have one ball, I imagine you'll score one goal, every time. Score, score, score'.

"That's my mentality. I push them with this. That's the best development for them and for the team."

"We need a lot of good passes, good crosses, to give them the best option to score in the box. We can be proud that both are with us."

This is Marco Silva’s 37th game in charge of Everton this afternoon. There have been some highs and lows in that time, but the Goodison faithful hope to finish the season on a high after a promising couple of results.

A win against Arsenal would really make them believe they are heading in the right direction.

Sulaimon Adelekan: It has been a mixed season for both Marco Silva and Unai Emery. We have expected much for Everton but it's been topsy turvy. If Arsenal qualify for the Champions League or win the Europa League, it's a success, while a top 7 finish is success for Everton.

Kyle: Marco Silva I think hasn't been a success. Too many poor results. With the squad Everton have assembled they should be in a better position to finish 7th. As for Emery, he has been a big success and he is doing an excellent job. Arsenal have overachieved.

Quadruple almost impossible, but we will try - Guardiola

However, Pep Guardiola says it will be "almost impossible" for Manchester City to win all four trophies this season.

As well as reaching the FA Cup final, City have already won the Carabao Cup, are in the Champions League quarter-finals and are currently second in the Premier League as they attempt to become the first English club to win all four trophies in one campaign.

"Surviving is a miracle. It's nice to be there," the City manager said.

"Nobody has done it [won the quadruple], so why can we do it? It is almost impossible to achieve everything - that is the truth."

  8. Quadruple dream still on for Man Citypublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 7 April 2019

It's been a relatively quiet weekend on the Premier League front with four top-flight sides in FA Cup action.

Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal at Wembley on Saturday as Manchester City maintained their hopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple by beating Brighton 1-0 in the semi-final.

Burnley bolstered their hopes of Premier League survival after coming from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-1, while Brendan Rodgers registered another victory as Leicester City manager with a 4-1 win over relegated Huddersfield Town.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace grabbed a 1-0 win at Newcastle with a late penalty.

The increasingly tight race for a top-four place continues for Arsenal with a trip to Merseyside to take on improving Everton.

Marco Silva's team saw off Chelsea in their last home match and have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five games en route to winning three of them, including convincingly at West Ham last week.

Arsenal need to respond to midweek wins for both Tottenham and Chelsea, but will have to improve on their recent away form to do so. The Gunners have only won once in the last eight matches on the road in the league, and that was at relegated Huddersfield.

Emmanuel Ahaneku: It's been mixed bags for Emery & Silva. We've seen their ups & downs. Hard to place them, really. Fair to say they both deserve another season to stamp their marks on their teams.

Ed Smith: I never expected arsenal to get top 4 this season but i always thought they could get it, if that makes sense. when we were on our 22 game unbeaten streak spurs fans absolutely rinsed me for saying we could get top 4. but here we are now exceeding expectations.

Everton have the chance to make it three successive league wins for only the second time this season.

The upturn in results - three wins and a draw in five matches - after just three wins in 14 Premier League matches saw Marco Silva included among the nominees for manager of the month.

"Normally it is a sign of when your team performs well," said Silva of the nomination.

"We are performing better and it is recognition of the good work we are doing, not just for me as a manager but the players.

"In general I am happy with our performances over the last few weeks with the exception of the 30 minutes against Newcastle (losing 3-2)."

They are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home and have failed to win on any of their five visits to top-half teams so far this season.

Everton might be set for a mid-table finish, but after beating Chelsea and taking points off Liverpool the Toffees have already had a say in proceedings.

And they can do so again this afternoon, as Arsenal visit Goodison Park looking to take advantage in their hunt for a top-four spot.
