Well, Manchester City have been in control but both times Tottenham have got the ball high up the pitch they've created good chances - Christian Eriksen this time squeezes into the area only to hit an effort straight at Ederson.
Big chance.

Manchester City have looked relentless in the opening exchanges, Phil Foden looks to combine with Sergio Aguero on the edge of the box but just overhits his through ball.

Phil Foden is letting Spurs players know that's he about and that he might be young but he doesn't mind the physical aspect of the game.

Yes, Raheem Sterling sauntered past Juan Foyth on his first opportunity to run at the Tottenham wing-back a moment ago - Foyth is usual a central defender, and luckily for him it came to nothing.

That was ominous for Spurs - Sterling went past Foyth as if the Tottenham defender wasn't there.

Eleven minutes in, just the one goal... pfft.

There was a danger the atmosphere could fall a little flat today after the drama of Wednesday, especially from the City fans given they saw their team go out of Europe.
Not a bit of it - they are on their feet and roaring their team on - when they pour forward with the ball, or when they press without it.

Just the job for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola. Early goal, local boy the scorer and any cobwebs left from Wednesday blown away.
Manchester City team and supporters right into this already.

Challenges flying in all over the place early in this one. No holding back.
Kevin De Bruyne gets the chance to whip a free-kick in from the right, but cannot clear the first man - unusual for him.

It's brilliant from Bernardo Silva. He's chipped that in beautifully. Lovely play by City, naive from Spurs.
Phil Foden (4 mins)
What a moment for Phil Foden!
How about that?! Just when you were thinking all the drama was used up on Wednesday night...
Bernardo Silva cuts in from the right, dinks a cross to the back post and it's brilliant from Sergio Aguero to head back across goal for Foden to nod in.
What a start at the Etihad.

Son just did a step over and I nearly fell off my chair, it was that good.

Good strength from Davinson Sanchez to hold off Raheem Sterling and let the ball run out for a goalkick.
City with plenty of the ball, but it's Tottenham with the first good chance!
Spurs intercept on half-way and Son Heung-min goes scampering down the left, he makes the space inside the area to fire at goal but Ederson palms it away.

Beautiful sunshine in Manchester, but if anything it's just making it even more difficult to distinguish City's sky blue shirts and Tottenham's mesh of green and blue... do a journalist with dodgy eyes a favour!
