Mark Davies: You need a mean defence, or a stand out striker, or an innovative manager to keep a promoted team in the Premier League. Cardiff possesses none of the above and are leaving the league with a whimper.

    Consolation for Cardiff...

Lovely finish from Bobby Reid, whipping a right-footed effort into the bottom corner from just inside the area.

Something to cheer for the Bluebirds.

Well... that was high, wide and not ever likely to threaten Neil Etheridge from Cheikhou Kouyate.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing bursts clear at the other end from Bobby Reid's pass, but Vicente Guaita is down quickly to push behind.

Chris Painter: Plenty of unlucky this or unlucky that, but the fact is Cardiff have had a bucket load of chances to put this to bed and haven't. A decent Championship side, but in every area they're just not quite premiership quality.

From that far out you would expect Hoilett to at least hit the target.

Big chance for Junior Hoilett as a deep cross to the back post drops on to his right foot, but he skews it well over. Not been the substitute's day.

I don't think Cardiff have played well enough today to get the two or three goals they need. I expect the game to peter out now or even Palace to get another.
