Bennett has to have a bite there for me, he knows what Townsend wants to do, he rarely goes outside, you've seen him do it on so many occasions. It's a great finish you have to say, but it's just too easy. There's just not been enough aggression from Cardiff today.

    Andros Townsend (70 mins)

Brilliant goal from Andros Townsend! Disaster for Cardiff...

The Crystal Palace winger collects the ball just inside the Cardiff half and is allowed to run and run down the line, before drifting inside and sauntering across the top of the box.

Townsend pulls the trigger with his left foot and finds the bottom corner, in off the post.

    Superb finish.

Lovely football from Crystal Palace - all dinks, flicks and deft touches around the area.

Eventually Jordan Ayew's shot deflects off a Cardiff defender for a corner.

We need more of that from Reid, great play and a lovely slide rule pass to Zohore. I think he takes it with his wrong foot for me, he should have gone with his right but instead opened his body up and went with his left.

  6. CLOSE!published at 65 mins

    Cardiff 1-2 Crystal Palace

Kenneth Zohore bursts clear, one-on-one with Palace keeper Vicente Guaita, but his effort deflects off the goalkeeper's legs and it takes all the pace off the shot.

Neil Warnock is screaming for a penalty, it looked like a great last-ditch challenge from Aaron Wan-Bissaka on Josh Murphy.... got plenty of the ball.

    Was that the chance?

Josh Murphy looks to curl one from the edge of the penalty box, but Martin Kelly dives across to get a thigh on it.

Good work from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing to create space for his team-mate.

It's just not quite sharp enough from Cardiff when they attack and too easy to defender for Crystal Palace.

Have to say the visitors are looking relatively comfortable with their lead.

If Kenneth Zohore is in the mood he is a dangerous player, but I'm afraid we haven't seen him in the mood for a long time at this club which is really disappointing. They were talking £20million for him 18 months ago but he's looked a shadow of that player since.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

    Cardiff 1-2 Crystal Palace

Half an hour left for Cardiff City to find two goals.

Danny Ward is a willing runner for the ball over the top, but he is muscled out and it skips on to Vicente Guaita.

And it'll be Ward who makes way. Kenneth Zohore comes on.

The game is so stretched now. The Cardiff midfield can't keep up with the play. But in this situation they have to take some risks, they have to get a goal.

Cardiff are throwing everything at this, but they're vulnerable on the break.

It's nervy stuff from the hosts.

Murphy is thinking goal before he's made the connection. He has all day to think about it but takes his eye off the ball, he's actually looking at the goalkeeper, and totally scuffs it.

  15. CLOSE!published at 54 mins

    Cardiff 1-2 Crystal Palace

Long throw from Aron Gunnarsson, great arm.

Crystal Palace never quite clear and Cardiff work it right to Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

It drops all the way to the back post for Josh Murphy, but he drags wide from six yards out.

    Huge chance.

Nice move from Crystal Palace - they're more considered on the attack than their Welsh counterparts.

Joel Ward goes darting down the left and cuts it back for Michy Batshuayi, only for the striker to blaze an effort into the stands behind the goal.

Half a chance for the Bluebirds.

Joe Bennett launches a free-kick long into the area and it drops to Danny Ward, but he hoists well over with his left foot.

Cardiff's injured centre-back Sol Bamba looks like he was just enjoying a joke with his Ivory Coast team-mate Wilfried Zaha in the tunnel.

He may have been asking him to stay behind and not take to the field for the second half, just to give Cardiff a chance. The winger has been almost unplayable so far.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has had an absolute stormer of a season.

He slides in to pinch the ball away from Josh Murphy in the area - great tackle.
