Win or lose, it has been a very good campaign for Watford, who have managed to finish the season with the same manager they started it with, which is a massive success by their recent standards.

Joking aside, they look a more settled side because they have stuck with their coach, and also because of his personality. Javi Gracia is very calm and does not get carried away with any individual results - win, lose or draw.

We know City always have a lot of possession, but people don't always recognise they have got great width, and I am expecting them to really stretch Watford out wide.

Watford won't see much of the ball, and I don't see them creating many chances - so they have to make every set-piece count.

When I saw Watford keeper Ben Foster having a good laugh with fans at the hotel restaurant a little earlier on, I'd forgotten that Heurelho Gomes was certain to start today. No wonder he looked so chilled.

Gomes - and Troy Deeney - get the loudest welcomes from the Watford fans just off to my right as the team is announced.

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and could be a leading figure in today's final.

The 24-year-old sat down with BBC Sport's Dan Walker for a wide-ranging interview, discussing topics as diverse as racism, the faith shown in him by Guardiola and post-match phone calls from his mother.

I would tell my 15 year old self to ignore others' opinions - Sterling

Now the Watford players have joined their City counterparts for their pre-match warm-up. Watford boss Javi Gracia certainly hasn't come to park the bus on his big day out - it's an attacking XI which as a neutral I'm very pleased about.

I always think you need both teams to score to make a good final - Chelsea won 1-0 last season.

I got the chance to get close to the Wembley pitch earlier, and as a playing surface it looks pretty much perfect. A carpet in fact.

Whoever loses today, they won't be able to blame it on the grass.

Gerard Deulofeu is an exceptional talent, especially one v one. I love everything about him. He is capable of performing at his very best in the big games, he needs these games. Sometimes you are concerned whether your players will adapt to the occasion. Gerard is the opposite, the bigger the occasion the bigger the performance.

Hawk-Eye's goal-line technology definitely played its part in Manchester City's Premier League title triumph - think John Stones' goal-line clearance against Liverpool and Sergio Aguero's goal against Burnley - so will it help decide the outcome of the FA Cup final too?

If today's game does come down to fine margins, then a lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to get it right.

Hawk-Eye's technicians set up their cameras (six for each goal) at Wembley on Friday, and they were testing them for two hours from lunchtime onwards, before showing the set-up to referee Kevin Friend at 15:00 BST to get his final approval that everything is working as it should be.

Big surprise that Sergio Aguero is on the bench - but how does that list of Manchester City substitutes rank among the strongest ever to sit out a major final?

Watford fans gathering around Wembley, however, really fancy their chances in their first final since they lost to Everton in 1984.
