It was a brilliant, clinical strike. Manchester City are going to be the first men's team in English football to win the domestic treble OR we're all going to watch the best 30 minutes of football Wembley has seen since Stanley Matthews was on the wing.

Mr E: That finish from KDB was pure filth. Sent Gomes into retirement.

That is why Manchester City are so good, absolutely fantastic.

    Kevin de Bruyne

If only he had a bit of composure!

Outrageous finish. Gabriel Jesus wins the ball back on halfway and plays a one-two with Raheem Sterling. He's away on goal, could take the ball in but instead makes the right decision and releases sub Kevin de Bruyne.

You'd put your life savings on him whacking it first time but instead, as Heurelho Gomes dives at his feet the Belgian just sidesteps him, takes a touch and buries it. Brilliant finish.

A rugby tackle from David Silva! He's got it all in his locker. In the book though, even you can't get away with that.

Sometimes we just get used to watching City dominate football matches and don't appreciate how good they are, they have been outstanding today.

  9. CLOSE!published at 58 mins

    Manchester City 2-0 Watford

Another HUGE chance for Watford! As basic as a chance comes at this level, a ball is headed on from midfield, for once Aymeric Laporte and Vincent Kompany aren't switched on and Gerard Deulofeu is able to run in behind them.

He's running away from goal and it's on his weaker left foot and the shot is, well, weak.

Manchester City have lost a touch of control out there so they bring on one of the world's best to take a grip.

Riyad Mahrez sulks off, Kevin de Bruyne comes on. Not a bad replacement to have up your sleeve...

This is much better from Watford. There's a bit of tempo, they have relaxed, they have thought 'we have nothing to lose'. A bit like the Wolves game.

Somebody's eating the world's nicest-smelling hot dog near me as Watford continue to pile on some pressure. Hard to focus...

Was that a penalty shout? Watford are interested in an appeal but Kevin Friend is anything but. Not interested.

A glimpse of brilliance! That's a bit of La Masia, as gets the ball on the halfway line, cuts a path inside and motors past two men. He links up with Roberto Pereyra, gets it back inside the area but can't quite get a shot away.

The Watford fans believe! And Vincent Kompany then has to head clear a testing free-kick...

Watford get into a good area again but Roberto Pereyra can't link up with a man in yellow! They had plenty of men forwards there. They're either going to score or be torched on the counter at this rate.

Get busy living or get busy dying...

Gabriel Jesus! Diving header for 3-0 but no, he's offside. Don't think VAR will need to check that one.
