Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been showering his team with praise.

He says he wishes there was a prize for the team that has developed the most.

He said: "This team is one of the best that ever played for Liverpool; 100%.

"But we play in a league with other very good teams. We accept that, no problem."

Noel Gallagher and his kids are in the dressing room having pictures with the trophy. Hmmmm.

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Unai Emery: "I am proud of the players, we deserve to be fighting for the top four, at the last moment we didn't take it, but we are closer to the other teams.

"Our first target in the league we can not take, but we have the Europa League to play for one title and this [Champions League] target."

Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo: "We had a good game against a fantastic opponent. We started not so good but we had good chances.

"It’s the end of the season. Until the last minute we showed total commitment and that’s what I went. We had chances but weren’t clinical. We knew we would be facing a tough opponent. The commitment, belief and ideas were there.

"We will try to improve and build a good team next season."

Arsenal

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: "I am happy we won, and I am sharing this [Golden Boot] trophy with two other guys I like. My team-mates knew about the Golden Boot, I said nothing. I did not want them to play and only focus on me. I am a team player. The team have had a great season but last month it has not been the best in the league."

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson: "We gave everything, but no regrets. We have been outstanding all season and left everything out on the pitch. That is all you can ask for

"We had to concentrate on the game, we didn’t play particularly well but got the job done and that is all that mattered.

"We have lost one game, people might talk about the draws but we tried everything to win those games. We gave everything over the whole season, City are a fantastic side and you take your hats off to them.

"Next season we give everything to win it."

Leicester City

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers:

"It was a very good game. They had one or two chances as did we. I was pleased with the mentality of the players and we didn’t concede which was important.

"Jamie [Vardy] is constant threat we had a few moments where we got in but it was just that final pass. The quality we showed at times was very good.

"They want to learn. We beat Arsenal, played well against Manchester City and got a point today. People thought we would not get any points from the last three games. It’s been nice induction into the club, the players have been good, the supporters, we'll now add that bit of depth to the squad."

Strong, if utterly sensible stuff. How long until Manchester United can enjoy the sort of scenes which are still going on in Brighton...?

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live:

"The last couple of months have been extremely hard for the team and for the club and for the players. More or less the only positive from today is that the season is over. We meet again 1 July and we’ll work back to where we belong.

"To reach the leaders it will take a long time. For ourselves the short-term focus in the league will be getting into the top four. We’ve got the Europa League, FA Cup, Caraboa Cup to go for a trophy because Manchester United can’t go many years without winning a trophy. Jose [Mourinho] won the Europa League last and that is a realistic ambition.

"In the league, the points we are behind the top two, they have been excellent those two. Absolutely exceptional. And we are five or six points behind Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea. They are the ones we have to make sure we catch up and don’t let anyone closer to us.

"We’ll need players in, we’ll need some characters in but of course you see Mason [Greenwood] today, he’s made for Manchester United and a player we’ll see a lot of."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I want to congratulate my players, they are superheroes.

"At the start of the season no one would believe. It's a massive achievement, I feel so proud but we have not finished our season. We have three weeks to prepare for the final, which will be one of the most important games in our history.

"The characteristic of this season is never giving up. The team's spirit has been fantastic."

Reflecting on reaching the Champions League final: "Now I realise it was a special moment, I am enjoying it now more than Wednesday night - there was a lot of emotion, that now you realise and I enjoy looking at the pictures and videos, you can appreciate every single moment."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he is not concerned this season is as good as it can be for his side.

However, he has issued a warning for his own side, and the remainder of the Premier League.

"As long as Manchester City are around with their financial power, no team will pass them easily," he said.

"We need to be very close to perfection to win the Premier League as long as this is the case."

Chelsea

Bizarrely, Chelsea are scheduled to play MLS side New England Revolution in a post-season friendly in Massachusetts on May 15.

More from the Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri:

"All the players will come to Boston. We have to try to recover [N'Golo] Kante. We have no chance with [Antonio] Rudiger, [Callum] Hudson-Odoi, Gary Cahill is difficult. We need to avoid another injury in Boston.

"I thought I was unlucky at Napoli (losing the title) with 91 points. It will be very difficult [for us to close the gap], Liverpool lost the Premier League with 97 points.

"I'm really sorry for Liverpool fans and [Jurgen] Klopp but the season of Manchester City was wonderful. We have to work and try to recover the gap. It will be difficult."

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk: "I am very proud of this team, it’s a very special team and I am very proud to be part of it. We have a big final to come, we should be proud but congratulations to City but hopefully we can challenge them next year.

"We struggled a little bit today, we are human beings and it will be in your head, you cannot deny it. After such a hectic day and week we can be proud of ourselves.

"City have been outstanding but so are we. We are going to work hard again and hopefully try to do it."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to Sky Sports on whether his side could have done anything more...

"Not really. I know people will find something and say a point here or three. We had lucky moments, City had lucky moments – against Burnley and us. But we scored a strange goal against Everton and a late one against Newcastle.

"It’s not about outplaying everyone, it’s about keeping believing and staying in the race. City found it difficult to get rid of us, and we couldn’t get rid of them.

"Being second in the Premier League isn't what we wanted tonight but we'll take it. This is a first step, that’s how we see it. The team who played the last couple of weeks were together last year apart from Alisson.

"We were 25 points off last season. If we do those same steps again that will be a season.

"I do my job. The boys deserve 100%. Congratulations to Manchester City, they played a good season. They took 198 points in two seasons, not bad."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is talking to the media.

He thought Sadio Mane and Mo Salah had shared the Golden Boot, only to be told Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had finished on 22 goals as well.

"Auba too? Do they have three boots? It is good. They are all my players."

Klopp signed Aubameyang for Borussia Dortmund in 2013.

Fulham

Fulham boss Scott Parker, speaking to Match of the Day: "It is frustrating, really frustrating. We had become a bit more resilient but today I felt at times there were signs of the old us. When the game becomes a basketball match for us, which I mean back and forth, we are the side that look like they are going to concede.

"Of course it has been a disappointing season but in football as quick as you are down but you are always around the corner from a new challenge and the new challenge is the Championship next season. There were signs in our play today of what we are trying to do and that is something I love but of course there are some other things I am not keen on.

"We will be in tomorrow and will go through the finer details of pre-season. We will take a break next week and there it will be foot to the floor."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "An outstanding season. We had a proper competitor and well done to them – they have 198 points in two seasons which is incredible.

"We made a much bigger jump development wise. The boys pushed themselves to new levels, which I love, and that development and improvement is not finished.

"It is the first try [at the title]. What went before is nothing to do with us. This was our first try to do it and we didn’t do it in the most spectacular way. It’s not a perfect day for us but the future will show whether it’s a very good one anyway.

"I wouldn’t have felt the same if we’d lost but I just wanted us to deal with this situation for our own future. The boys did that so I’m really happy."
