Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri speaking to Sky Sports:

"Eden [Hazard] was tired today so he was on the bench. We tried to win with him later on in the last 25 minutes. I think Eden has played here in Chelsea for seven seasons, trying in every match to do his best and now it's time to respect his decision, but I hope he will remain with us.

"The season is good. We were in trouble two or three months ago but third place is a very good result. Now we have to go to Baku for the Europa League final and we have the chance for our season to be wonderful."

On playing a friendly in the United States in midweek: "It's a double feeling. I'm happy because we go there for a good reason. As a coach I am worried because we are tired and need to rest."

Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "We had the chances to kill the game but the problem with clean sheets has been a picture of the season. We must stop these mistakes and today it was Angus Gunn. We want to play out but decision making and good anticipation is important. At that moment we cannot dribble out like Angus did and it's been unbelievable this year that when we make a mistake it’s a goal. We have to sort that next season.

"We know we have a lot of things to do in the summer and we will, with this squad and new players also. We need to bring a few guys in and then we have to work hard with them."

On Nathan Redmond's performance: "It is one of his biggest threats to go inside and finish with the right foot. We had other chances but it is disappointing not to win the game and jump another place in the table."

Niko: Great to see Vinny Kompany up there to lift the trophy - terrific player, leader, bloke. Wish the Arsenal had a personality like that around.

Nybuti: Kompany's strike against Leicester wins it for City. Wonderful season.

Eddie Howe speaking to MOTD, asked if today's game summed up Bournemouth's season: "Very much so. I think you summed it up nicely. We had a real low first half. We didn't defend well, didn't react well to the first goal. We wobbled a little bit, maybe due to the inexperience in our team.

"We responded really well in the second half and could have scored more so yes - a nice summary of our season.

"In the second half we created some really good moments. Our level of play was a lot better than the first period. We felt we could cut them open but unfortunately it was the same for their attacking play. They had pace on the counter-attack, something struggled to handle

"It has to be seen as another season of progression. We have been able to withstand injuries to key players and blood some young players. The team has been in transition throughout the seasons so to maintain our Premier League status and at times play good football, it has been pleasing."

More from Klopp: "The team made so many big steps in the last year. The boys were all there from last season apart from Alisson. He had a big impact but all the rest were here last season.

"It’s a very special season, a better season than I played with my team [Borussia Dortmund] when we were champions in Germany. But we cannot ignore one team were better.

"It’s clear we were lucky in moments, like City were. We were unlucky against City but scored in the last second against Everton and late on against Newcastle, they could have been draws as well.

"The season is a very long, hard one. You have to deal with setbacks. We were always competitive. City got the points they have because we were there. They have 198 points in two years, that’s special. We made such big steps. It’s only the first step. Always after a good year we lost key players [in the past] but we won’t [this time] so we’ll be there again."

  9. 'This is only the first step'published at 17:37 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Liverpool 2-0 Wolves

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to BBC Sport: "Congratulations to Manchester City. We tried everything to make it as difficult as possible but not difficult enough. I couldn’t be more proud of the boys.

"It’s incredible what they did all season and today was a strange situation. We were really good until 1-0, what happened then was clear. You can’t tell the people to calm down. At that moment [when Liverpool fans celebrated Brighton's goal] it was a shock for everyone and Wolves were there. We had to fight. In the end we scored two and kept a clean sheet. It’s nice but not how we wanted it.

"It’s clear we had to work hard and City too. Our target during the week was to get 97 points, we got that – that’s special. We want to write our own history and we did. Today feels not so good but we have plenty of time to prepare for an important game in three weeks."

  10. 'There were signs of the old us'published at 17:36 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Fulham 0-4 Newcastle

    Fulham

Fulham boss Scott Parker: "I don't think the scoreline reflects the game but saying that in both boxes we didn't do well enough today. We lacked a cutting edge and looked a little vulnerable at times. There were signs of the old us a little bit at times.

"We need a to build a culture here and a mentality so that what happened today doesn't happen.

"It will be a tough process in the sense of dusting ourselves down, work out where we went wrong this season and try and prepare for the next one. When you are relegated teams will come for your best players but the owners will want to keep hold of their best players and that is what they will try to do.

"We understand the challenges ahead. Next season won't be a rollover it is a tough, tough league."

  12. 'I'm looking forward to a holiday'published at 17:33 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    FT: Southampton 1-1 Huddersfield

    Huddersfield Town

Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Huddersfield manager Jan Siewart said: "I would say we got a positive result. It's not easy after being relegated to play Man Utd and Southampton. I could see they were exhausted so it's credit to my players. We wanted to build momentum and we could have made more of our chances in the first half. Then they scored so we had to take that. It was a tough season for everyone at the club so it's important we forget about the season and go away on holiday and refresh."

On Joel Coleman's Premier League debut: "He deserved his chance and I think he took it. These last two results will stay in the minds of the supporters and we have a chance to build on it. I’m looking forward to build in the summer but I'm looking forward to a holiday. There might be some interest in our players from other clubs but we have to make decisions which will suit our club and we have to look forward."

    Manchester United

Ole Gunnar SolskjaerImage source, Getty Images

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "Today was not the problem, you can have all the possession and chances you want but we concede easy goals and not score at the other. That is not where our challenge lies, we have a long and hard way to be where we want to be.

"Mason Greenwood was brilliant, he was our best player by a mile and that says a lot about the kid. He came into the team with a lack of confidence and you can see that has take a total. Not surprised by his performance, we know he is capable of that.

"It will take some time to close in on the top, we finished five or six points behind third, fourth, fifth and that has to be our aim. The top two teams have set a standard higher than before and we have to take up the next challenge.

"The work starts now, everyone has the summer off but we have to come back with a different mentality and different attitude of being a Man United team.

"The ones who played, did well but it was not good enough."

    Watford 1-4 Fulham

    Watford

Watford manager Javi Gracia speaking to BBC Sport: "It was like the last game of the season. We were soft in both areas. We started well and created clear chances but we didn’t score and they did.

"The red card made it impossible for us and we will appeal it. For a player to miss the FA Cup final for that contact is not right.

"We have achieved the best season ever in the Premier League and now we have the chance to play the cup final. I want to recognise the work my players have done over the whole season.

"It will be easy to focus on the FA Cup final. We’re all looking forward to it and my players will give their best."
