Oh dear. Another one to make Emile wince. Diogo Jota races into the Leicester box.. and trips over his own feet. Groans in the away end, laughs in the home stands.

Unai Emery is not a happy man.

The weather is certainly St James' and not Seville and he's just let out a cry in frustration as his side again lost possession in the middle of the park.

Steve Bruce, standing parallel to him and sans hood, is far less animated - probably quite pleased with what he's seen so far from his boys.

"I'd have stuck that in," is what Emile Heskey might be teling the fella next to him at the King Power about that Jamie Vardy chance.

The pioneer of the DJ Spoony celebration - oh, and former Leicester striker - is watching on.

So far though Newcastle have coped well with Arsenal's sporadic attacks. Thoughts on the first 40 minutes of the Steve Bruce era?

    Newcastle 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal haven't shown too much attacking threat yet, but when they do it looks ominous for Newcastle.

Joe Willock has been the best of the Gunners' front four, driving forward with confidence. One for the fantasy football watchlist perhaps...

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has a couple of opportunities to deliver from the right, but his final balls are poor and Newcastle survive.

    But if the Gunners click...

And if Jamie Vardy had got a fifth here then it would have been 1-0. The Leicester striker fresh airs a low cross from Youri Tielemans. No idea how he did that.

That came moments after Wolves created their best opening, Jonny Evans coming to Leicester's rescue just as Willy Boly looked set to pounce following a set-piece.

Ayoze Perez, who arrived at Leicester from Newcastle of course, has not really had a look in on his Foxes debut.

Perez has had 14 touches dotted all over the pitch. Although that's 10 more than Jamie Vardy...

    Newcastle 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal flick the switch and cut Newcastle open with the efficiency of a brand new bread knife.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang neatly pulls down a lofted pass with the outside of his boot, his second touch as sharp as his first, a low half-volley being blocked by home keeper Martin Dubravka.

That's the Gunners' first shot on target...

Leicester are doing most of the attacking movement at the King Power, having another effort which doesn't get Rui Patricio's gloves dirty.

Ruben Neves dillies and dallies, allowing Wilfred Ndidi to pick his pocket and have a pop. Wide.

Daniel Woodley: Someone should tell Miguel Almiron that due to VAR you can't win penalties by diving this season.

Anukram Adhikary: If anyone can help me understand Arsenal’s team selection, please do so. I have no idea what Emery sees in Guendouzi that he doesn’t see in Torreira.

Joelinton... is this THE moment he announces his arrival?

The £40m striker wriggles left, then right, trying to find the space to shoot as he races into the Arsenal area.

That he does, belting a low half-volley goalwards which is straight at Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno.

    Either side...

The home fans really did not like that.

It did look a little like Miguel Almiron made a lot of it - no benefit of replays here.

They were on their feet again though thanks to Jonjo Shelvey's cracking effort.

Rain update: Relentless, as are Newcastle at the moment.

What's Martin Dubravka doing? The Newcastle keeper goes wandering from his line as Nacho Monreal races on to a long ball down the left.

Lob him! The Spaniard can't execute and the ball drops to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who blazes his shot into Row Z of the Gallowgate.

Arsenal's best chance by a country mile. Have they, ahem, weathered the early storm in grim conditions?

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I thought there would be a lot more of the new signings starting today – especially for Arsenal. Newcastle are starting to warm up, that's a lot better from them and listen to the change in the sound from the fans, they are getting loud. It's took a while to get going while the two sides have been sizing each other up. Newcastle are on top at the moment.

Newcastle are dominating. Toon midfielder Jonjo Shelvey lets fly from outside the box and sees his shot cannon off the post.

    Arsenal are rocking.

No wonder Andy Carroll - wearing a baseball cap emblazoned with 'Icon' - is smiling as he watches on from the posh seats.

Chris Smith: Mkhitaryan has given the ball away four times in 10 minutes. Great start to his season!

Dominic Chan: Arsenal got to be more creative and move the ball forward.

Joshua Edwards: Take Aubameyang out of that Arsenal side and the rest are about on a level with Leicester, Wolves and Everton. Luis included. They'd best hope that Ceballos & Pepe turn out to be their best signings ever otherwise top 4 is a pipe dream

Joe Willock shows a glimpse of the talent which has encouraged Unai Emery to throw him into the Arsenal starting XI.

The teenager gallops down the left flank as the visitors break on the counter, Fabian Schar taking no chances with a crude challenge on the touchline.
